Villa Puccini Bed & Breakfast

We slept in the Villa Puccini for 1 night in September 2023. The room was ok., the bathroom a bit worn, the breakfast ok but nothing special. We had a soap leak in our bag. When cleaning it up, we stained a towel. We informed the landlady when checking out and offered to pay for the towel. She asked for €30, arguing that she needs to replace the entire towel set. We thought that this is too much. She started screaming at us, insulting me and in the end hitting me with the wet towel. In a lifetime of traveling, I never experienced something like this. We gave her the €30 and fled. So, bottom line, If you need to stay at that place, bring your own towels 😉

Terrible place, mattress smells old and pillows are dirty . The sheets make you vomit. asks for money for breakfast and does not exist . Before leaving the place the lady asks for money for some various reasons. An old dog that always in front of the door and smells terribly

Villa Puccini is a B&B located slightly uphill, at a 600m distance from Lecco-Maggianico railway station, and offers several rooms. Free Wi-Fi. The lady-owner is friendly but insists on an instant payment when making a reservation. We called the B&B and confirmed our booking by Amex. While on the train on our way to Lecco-Maggianico we received several calls & notes from Mrs Cristina that our credit-card didn’t work. She suggested that we quickly make a bank-transfer or use another credit-card. If we could not pay within an hour, she would give the room to someone else! With a weak wifi on the train that was undoable. Finally we gave our Mastercard details over the phone. Fiercely insiting an a pre-payment is not very service oriented. when booking you better make a reservation via booking-dot-com. The relatively small, yet adequately furnished & decorated, room had an OK double bed, desk & chair, micro tea & coffee facility, wardrobe, and TV on the wall. Our separate bathroom had washbasin, spacious shower, bidet and toilet. All was clean. An OK Italian breakfast is served with an acceptable variety: half hard boiled egg, sliced cucumber & tomato, ham & cheese, bread, sweet bread & toast, butter, yoghurt, nice preserves, tea or hot chocolate & coffee. We found Villa Puccini relatively pricey, nonetheless we had an acceptable stay.
