The elevator broke the day after we arrived and was still not repaired 4 days later. The staff is friendly but not very communicative. No commercial gesture to overcome this inconvenience. They could have at least offered us to go down two floors. But overall the room was good and very quiet. The generous breakfasts

Very small rooms and the plumbing is awful we had a first floor room and every time someone flushed it woke you up. It’s a 4;30 check in to a dusty room we arrived at 3:30 and was told to wait by a member of reception then watched other people check in when we enquiry why, we where given room keys! The room was wry small and dusty (106 check behind the door), we had no water and one the toiletries was empty. We notified reception and nothing happened. No water in the room either and if you want a glass of wine it’s €9:50. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere and a 45 minute walk to town. We had been travelling for 18 nights and this was by far the worst hotel we stayed in. Breakfast is very poor if you want eggs you have to cook them yourself, this place needs a good sorting out, and you get charged for parking even tho it’s in the middle of of nowhere. Just AVOID

I’ll start with a note: I have never suggested avoiding any hotel or restaurant. This is a first for the reasons stated below, but it is exceptional given the dreadful levels of service and the establishment. We booked the hotel enroute back to the UK. We’ve been to Le Touquet before and loved its charm. We wanted comfort, a four-star hotel, and were paying €320 for two rooms for three of us. So; After a long drive from the South of France, predicted seven hours, actually took eleven, we arrived at 1700. The hotel (actually three Accor hotels on one site) is a long way from any amenity in the middle of a housing estate, and next to a large future building site. Totally devoid of Le Touquet ambience. No matter, not having eaten all day and we battled the traffic, all we wanted was dinner, a beer, and bed. The receptionist said the earliest we could eat was 21.30 – four and a half hours away. This was as the one restaurant, serving all three hotels, had just two waiters, so they were limiting numbers. There was no apology (nor later when I queried bar snacks in place of dinner – ‘Non’). Rude staff who to be fair must battle clients for the lack of amenity the whole time. This isn’t acceptable in a four star hotel. So half an hour later after depositing our cases and freshening up back in the car for the drive to the sea front and an excellent meal, No shortage of staff in town, but we were totally knackered, by the end. Another example ofr staff care – the receptionist after check in said can I show tyou to your rooms. We said ‘Yes, please’. She walked about fifteen places, still in the bar, and said ‘You go through that door, along the corridor, the lift is on your left, rooms on the first floor’. So much for showing us to our rooms, but as we went down the corridor we realised the ground floor is a spa, and the smell of chemicals pervades the hotel, at least as far as the first floor and its rooms, where we were. The receptionist probably knew we’d comment and wanted to avoid that – but she could simply have pointed to the door from where she sat at reception. Our two rooms (there were three of us) were tiny. So small there are only four pieces of furniture; bed; one bedside locker; a metal chair; and a shelving unit. Nowhere for example for a suitcase to be left open for an overnight. Or to put a watch and phone one side of the bed. Or (as I found) to avoid stubbing your toe if you need the bathroom in the dark. The fittings were damaged – a coat hook was broken and missing, the mattress base at the foot of the bed was broken, the walls were scuffed and dirty. We had a small balcony – the adjoining room didn’t. But outside was a desert – hundreds of chairs and tables, nicely arranged. Not a soul interested in using them. The weather wasn’t bad, it’s just completely misjudged in its design. We slept OPK – long day and finally a good meal in town, and went for breakfast. Again chaos. We found a table (the restaurant was full, we’d guess aroun
