When we arrived at the room we noticed that it smelled quite musty and moldy. Hundreds of ants were walking around the door to the outside. We had just put down our stuff when our name was asked and it immediately became clear that something was wrong. The lady called and after a while gave the phone to me. Whereupon the owner reported that he had no affiliation with ********** or ******* and that he had a booking for all the rooms from another guest. This came as a shock to us, after all we had already paid and received confirmation that the location was available via **********. We had to drive 1:30 hours before we found another place to sleep. Therefore, either the advertisement of ********** and other ******* labels is incorrect (no affiliation) or the owner is playing a game with us because he had a better deal through another party. In both cases, this advertisement should be removed ASAP from all ********** and ******* linked sites. Don't fall for it, I even called in advance and sent a text message with the given telephone number, but there was no response! We wanted to go white water rafting from this location, but our tip is to look for something in Kitulgala. That is another 1.5 hours further, luckily we found a boutique hotel with a great view which was even cheaper from where we could also arrange the rafting directly.
