Beautiful setting
My wife and I found the staff to be extremely down to earth people. The small village of Gimmewald does not have a lot of amenities but we loved how authentic and unspoiled it is. There are many easily accessible hiking trails with outstanding views. The food at the hotel is excellent. I had concerns about having a room with a shared bathroom but that was no problem at all. I have traveled to all 50 states in the US and dozens of countries and this hotel was my favorite place that I have ever stayed at.

Pension Gimmelwald is charming, cozy, and beautiful! If you want top notch hospitality, yummy dinners with a view, and a truly charming Swiss environment, look no further. We loved the village, the people, and the view. A peaceful piece of paradise. Highly recommend!

A true Swiss mountain experience
If you are looking for true Swiss mountain home experience and not a tourist hotel, this is the place for you.
Quaint quiet village. Pension Gimmelwald is a great hotel, gives you a true mountain village experience.
Rooms are spotlessly clean, staff is friendly and entertaining.
Home cooked meals are fabulous.
Highly recommend coming here.

Can’t recommend.
The location is okay, but if you want more restaurant options it’s better to stay in Mürren.
The walls are super thin here and it’s disturbing. We could hear everything above us .. even the zipper on their suitcases. Footsteps and creaking boards are annoying.
There was no hot water for showering.
I would not stay here again.
There are way better places to stay for that price.

Rustic and Charming
This is an awesome rustic stay. Not posh, somewhat quirky, but charming and memorable. The hosts are very accommodating and welcoming. The restaurant and bar downstairs has a good breakfast and a dinner option available - the food was simple but fine. Rooms are small, with shared bathroom and shower facilities that were not my favorite, and not always very clean. But this is a really special place in the world and if you go in knowing what to expect, you will have an amazing stay.
