Super satisfied 👍
Hygiene: Clean, daily cleaning will help put the kitchen utensils back into the dishwasher.
Environment: There are many restaurants in a beautiful environment downstairs. Children love the playground opposite. A green lawn and super blue sky. There are also many pigeons and seagulls.
Service: Super good. The check-out time was delayed by one hour because of the afternoon flight check-out time. Thank you very much.

We stayed here in September 2022 and just loved our visit. The hotel was exceptionally vibrant, clean, modern, well located and had brilliant service. The rooms are very comfortable with big areas around beds with room to move and put belongings and the bathrooms were very clean and modern. The staff were always helpful and friendly and the hotel was very well located within easy walking distance of downtown areas. We especially loved the beautiful foyer area and accessible bar and restaurant areas. Would definitely recommend.

Best Western Launceston is a basic, but clean, safe, comfortable well-priced hotel in the centre of Launceston. It's well positioned for the Botanic Gardens and monkey enclosure, right in the centre of the city, and not too far from the river. The room had everything you'd need, or expect, for this price. But what raised the place for me was the service. On a badly delayed flight I didn't arrive until after midnight, but the night manger appeared swiftly, helped me check in, and never once complained about being dragged to the front desk in the middle of the night.

Not sure about other rooms but we had a room which was like a ballroom. 2 doubles and a single along with a dining table, fireplace with mantel and mirror, spa bath which we didn't use but if you were having a romantic time it would be a bonus. Kitchen with coffee maker. Huge TV. Overall I was totally blown away.

We arrived at the Leisure Inn Penny Royal Hotel and Appartments and was welcomed so warmly by the lady in reception. She was friendly, courteous and so warm in her dealings with us. Our room was ready even though we arrived an hour early. The building is charming , full of character. Our room was old but spotless and full of charm. Just beautiful. The only downside is we are only spending 1 night here and would definitely stay again.

I would like to give the reception staff Lisa and Karen 10 out of 10 for wonderful service. I was trying to get a bed for one night and rang the hotel as I'd booked on what I thought was their website - I'd booked the wrong night and couldn't change it. Lisa was the lady I spoke to and she very kindly sorted it for me in such a lovely manner. Then when I arrived Karen was on reception and the welcome was warm and friendly and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Personality plus, what an asset! The room was on the small side but comfortable, spotless and had a fabulous view of the city. It is also within walking distance of two theatres, bars and restaurants. A genuine pleasure to stay here, thank you ladies.

This is an older motel that has been renovated and now calls itself a hotel. Launceston is very hilly with some hills quite steep. This hotel was towards the top of one of these steep hills. There are three wings with carparking inbetween each wing. The wing closest to the road has two levels. There is a lift between these levels but the other wings are higher than the top level of the front wing. So if you miss out on a parking spot and have to park on the road you could have to lug your luggage up the road, up a handful of steps to reception, into the lift then out of that front wing up more steps to a room in the rear wing. The driveway up from the road to parking in front of the rear wing is seriously steep. We were on the top level of the front wing nearest the roundabout. Didn't hear much road noise. The room was not decorated to my tastes. Large format concrete-look tiles on the floor and walls of the bathroom with a feature wall of glossy black tiles. There was a large step up to raised shower recess. Here there was a dip down to the water outlet. Not good for those with mobility and balance issues. King double bed was a bit soft for my liking. Silly hanging section in wardrobe. Rail ran front to back making it difficult to get coats and so on in and out. The lovely park over the road and close proximity to city centre are saving graces. Would I stay here again? Probably not.

Very minimal, shabby rooms of doubtful cleanliness, at maximal expense. Explicitly states that no service is offered, so to that extent at least the management is honest! But if you are staying two nights or more, you only get one night's worth of tea/coffee/milk/towels etc, even though you are paying for these items in the room charge. We had booked and paid for two rooms, but when I arrived the receptionist rudely said I could not check in 'because I did not have the same name as the person who booked', and I would jolly well have to wait until the person who booked arrived. (Actually, the person who booked was my daughter-in-law.) This is an extremely rude, discriminatory, and just plain stupid thing to say. For example, a husband and wife could have different names, and arrive separately. Also, I arrived at 3 pm, but what if my daughter-in-law arrived at 10 pm? The polite thing to do would be for the receptionist simply to ask if she could have a word with my daughter-in-law on the phone, or see a text message. Another point: the rudest, most aggressive utterance in the 'hospitality' industry is 'Can I help you?' spoken loudly through gritted teeth and rictus smile. The receptionist really ought to book a course at charm school. If - despite all - you are thinking of staying here, keep in mind that it is a very steep, long walk down to the city centre - and back up. The Coach House is not suitable for children, as the upper storey concrete walkways and steps are extremely dangerous for toddlers.

Guests of this Launceston accommodation can expect an unforgettable time when visiting the surrounding food and wine region of Tasmania.
The hotel's graceful art deco façade belies the choice of several modern room types inside, where you will also find lounges to relax in, meeting and conference rooms available, on-site parking and wireless internet throughout the property. The hotel's own restaurant, The Charles, serves delicious local cuisine and high tea, while reception is available 24 hours.

This hotel is quite big in Launceston. The front desk staff is very good. They are very enthusiastic and proactive in solving various problems. The room is very spacious, the floor height is very high, the facilities are good, the parking is free, the breakfast is a set meal, the taste is very good.

Outstanding
GGuest UserHonestly the most incredible hotel experience in Tasmania. I would never dream of staying anywhere else. The luxury and the quality of the room and amenities are second to none. The most accomplished and welcoming hotel staff I’ve come across in Tasmania - thank you for making me feel special. My mother and I felt so welcome and honestly we wanted to extend our day. I loved where it was situated. A short 15min stroll to the town centre but quiet enough to enjoy the tranquility of Tasmania. The beautiful park areas and river views made it feel very intimate and more remote which is ideally what we wanted. Highly recommended. Honestly! Best Tasmanian hotel!!!
GGuest UserOur group stayed one night en route to Derby. We were all very happy with our rooms and had a comfortable night. The staff went out of their way to store the bike boxes for us to .pick up a week later when we left Launceston. We had the downstairs twin room which had a king and a single bed and was larger than the queen rooms. All rooms had views of the city, and refurbished bathrooms. Thanks to the staff at Areca for our enjoyable stay.
一一拳超人ZZBThe hotel is nice, the house is neat and clean, the surrounding environment is relatively quiet, the entrance and exit of the parking lot is a bit narrow, there is no breakfast during the epidemic period, it is a pity that the overall praise
BBLUEEYES2It's not in the city center, but it's only a few minutes' walk away. One of the important reasons for choosing it is that it has a parking lot for easy parking. The hotel is quaint and was renovated from an old house. The corridors are full of artworks. It seems to be the property of an Argentinian artist owner. . It's because of the old house, so the room is relatively small.
GGuest UserThe most comfortable stay on our whole Tasmania trip. Everything was perfect, clean, super comfortable. Beautiful restaurants with great food at reasonable prices. Easy check in and check out. I highly recommend it!
GGuest UserThe rooms are dated, but very clean and the bed was comfortable. They are serviced villas, which was a pleasant surprise! The milk and bathroom amenities were topped up without asking. The staff were friendly and my 2 & 3 year olds adored the “pony” rides. Note for future guests, they are horses not small ponies haha. Great experience none the less and it was just overall fabulous there!
GGuest UserIt's an old hotel with a good location, but the hotel facilities are old, the soundproofing of the room is poor, and the bath towels don't look clean, so I asked for them to be changed. Service attitude was average, the older woman at the front desk was a bit arrogant.
A reasonably priced place for what you get. We stayed in a spa villa for two nights travelling with family (2 adults 1 child). The good? Located only a short drive from Launceston, relatively quiet and clean. Nice and warm with the gas heater in main area. Basic facilities all met with TV, dining table and kitchen with stovetop/oven, toaster, kettle, microwave and fridge/freezer. Two small bedrooms with built in wardrobe space and electric blankets and extra bedding. Basic kitchenware. The not so good/need improving? More cutlery would be great. The water taps in the shower were very hard to get just right and kept vibrating when trying to hit the right spot. A wall panel heater in the bedroom would also be great. The games room was very tired and neglected. However, overall this met our needs. And as an added bonus, an IGA X-Press with hot food and good coffee, newsagent and bottle shop were directly next door (walking distance) and a great park located over the road with a little skate ramp track and playground. Would we stay here again? Yes, we would! Next time we'll need to ask what the big inflatable bear head was about as well.
GGuest UserWe stayed here as a family of five in a Family Room with private ensuite. We checked in 15 minutes early but the lady was happy to give us the keys to the room. The accommodation is upstairs on top of a pub/pokies. There is no lift so you have to walk up two flights of stairs and carry your luggage. Our room was very spacious with two single beds, and a sofa bed in the main living area. There was a private ensuite separating the queen bed room which was perfect for my parents. The room had basic furniture, a TV, fridge and coffee/tea making facilities. My son loved having a bubble bath as we only have a shower at home. The room was clean and the wide windows around the room made a good view of the outside which my son could look out of. Our room was situated next door to the communal kitchen and opposite to the shared bathroom which was very convenient. The hotel is within walking distance to a shopping plaza, restaurants, a KFC, Hungry Jacks, Coles and Woolworths. The only negative was that our room was situated along a busy main road and at night you could hear all the traffic passing by so we didn’t get a good night’s sleep. Also our booking via booking.com said we would get two free welcome drinks for two guests upon arrival but we didn’t get that. Other than that, we had a pleasant stay at Mowbray Hotel and would consider staying here again.
GGuest UserIt’s is a beautiful hotel! It’s clean and has a lot of comfort items to make you feel at home. Great location, easy to get in and out of the city. Environment was pleasant and welcoming. The staff was the nicest staff I have ever encountered at a hotel. They were always friendly and asked how our stay was going every time walked in the door.
