Stillwater Seven

Wonderful night in this quirky and unique establishment. Very helpful staff and a very comfortable room where every detail has been considered. Fantastic shower matched by a brilliant bed! Will certainly return in the future.

Amazing hotel, beautifully designed rooms, super comfortable bed and the mini-pantry is just awesome. Restaurant is also spectacular. Fantastic menu, wine list and staff. Fantastic long weekend - I can’t wait to get back for more. Thanks!

It’s all a bit ordinary when you arrive - the Stillwater Seven is housed in an old flour mill still boasting its corrugated iron walls. There is plenty of parking close to the main door however and the staff are friendly and helpful. Our sons were in the ground floor unit - the only one suitable for anyone with walking difficulties by the way. Getting to one of the six suites on the upper floor is via fairly steep stairs. Our room overlooking the Tamar River was a good size and despite the modern touches you can still see some charming evidence of the old mill. On the ground floor is the reason the property made a name for itself - the restaurant serves delicious home style meals and an excellent selection of Tassie wines and whisky. All in all we were quite impressed - not just with the restaurant meals but also the breakfast left in the rooms each morning. Crunchy freshly made bread arrived each afternoon - and a bag of still warm croissants was waiting outside the door each morning. There are walking trails nearby by the way (look out for the little coffee shops) and if you are heading to the city centre - it is only about 15 minutes away. Cataract Gorge is not far away either.

Lovely place to stay with very thoughtful touches like a complimentary welcome drink and crusty fresh bread in the room. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The in room continental breakfast with fresh croissants was lovely however if you want an espresso you will need to order separately.

Atmospheric, great vibe, a modern renovation of a flour mill on the river in Launceston that has been done with style and flair. World class. So is the Stillwater restaurant downstairs. A walk to the Cataract Gorge hiking trails one way and downtown Launceston the other. Authentic and welcoming staff made us feel right at home. Highly reccommend!

We love smaller hotels, and this was one of our favourites. The room was great, with a very comfy bed and the bathroom facilities were excellent, with an awesome shower. Very friendly and professional staff, and the food at the restaurant was superb. It’s in a great location with lots of other places to eat close by and just a few minutes walk to Cataract Gorge. We are definitely staying here again next time we are in Launceston.
