I stayed at The Eagle House Hotel on the 18th & 19th July, to attend the wedding of my Niece, which was hosted by the hotel. I just wanted to say thank you for a lovely stay, and also for hosting the wedding so perfectly - the whole day was so well organised, the food was delicious and the staff so friendly. As for my stay at the hotel – I only wish I lived closer, so that I could stay more often! The room was comfortable and clean, your staff were amazingly friendly and efficient, and breakfast was delicious – so lovely to vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. The hotel has such lovely places to sit and relax, both inside and out, and the views from the breakfast room and terrace are delightful! Thank you once again, I will certainly be recommending the Eagle House Hotel to anyone who is looking to stay in Launceston Patti Sanderson

Our daughter's wedding celebration was hosted by Eagle House Hotel in June 2025. The arrangements, attention to every detail and venue just couldn't be faulted. The staff were exemplary, none more so than the General Manager, Terri, whose enthusiasm and mere presence was a delight. A huge thank you to the owners, Bill and Becky Perry too, who ensured their wonderful hotel catered for our every need. It truly was a perfect day in every way. Our guests have left with memories to treasure for a lifetime.

Yet another lovely stay in this hotel. I stay most months overnight for work, and have probably stayed in most of the rooms by now. In the few years staying here, it has been nice to watch the hotel being brought back to life and rooms refurbished and redecorated. Some work still to do, such as the beautiful frieze around the coffee machine end of the breakfast room which I hope in time, the funds can be found to properly restore it as it is unique, and I love seeing it each visit. Staff are always friendly and helpful, and willing to accomodate food requests when made. I will keep returning for as long as I do my job, and the hotel continues to be cared for as it is currently. One day I hope to see the grounds restored as well, but then I am a gardener :-)

Staying here at the moment for two nights with my husband. We were greeted by lovely staff, we were on the top floor in a very nice room very clean can’t fault it, apart from having to carry the cases to the top so if you are not fit ask for a lower room.being on the top we needed to keep the fan on as it is so hot but can’t complain it’s an old building normally we want to keep warm in our bedrooms when we go away. Our breakfast was lovely good choice nice food cooked very well good choice of coffee chocolate was nice as well., very friendly waitress, we can’t fault this hotel some bad reviews we thought were very harsh Thankyou very much for our stay ..

Very disappointed with the rooms. We had booked in advance and paid for a double room based on their pictures as it seemed like a lovely hotel. You will find photos of what was advertised vs what we got. We were shoved into the upstairs loft with very gross carpeting that went right through the bathroom too (many stains in the carpeting around the toilet… it’s so unhygienic it made me feel so yucky). The bathroom is very dated and NOT at all like the photos advertised. The room, being in the ceiling basically, was SO HOT with only one small window that could only open 10cm. There was a small fan provided, but that just circulated the same hot humid air around the room. It felt like we were in a hostel room in a boarding house. Breakfast was okay, nothing special. A single rash of bacon?, a single sausage, single egg etc. On our way down in the morning I managed to get a glimpse into one of the other double rooms (the same double room I had booked and paid for), and it was a FAR cry from the room we had been given. So either they only have 1 room that they have renovated to take the nice photos of, or it’s just a roll of the dice if you get the hostel room we got. While the staff are lovely, based on the hotel itself I would certainly not return and have warned our family and friends in the area not to recommend the hotel to their guests or family in future.

Arrived at 5pm for a one night stay for work. Was back in the car by 5:15pm. The swarm of flies in the reception area should have been the warning, which the receptionist put down to it being time of year! The smell in the entrance was also off putting, a mixture of old musk, damp and fried food. Anyhow went up to room 11. Disgusting and uninhabitable, dead flies on the floor and live ones buzzing round. Stunk to high heaven and was damp, the dehumidifier in the corner should have been the warning. Soiled sheets. Wouldn't have used the shower it was dirty. Very old fashioned and slanted ceilings... who still has soiled, damp carpets in bathrooms! Swiftly went down to reception to tell the lady i would be leaving she apologised, never offered to review the room with me or offer a room. I stay in hotels weekly for work, this is quite honestly the worst I've ever stayed in.
