We stayed here as a family of 2 adults and 2 children for 1 night while travelling through Iceland. We had a large room with 2 bunk beds and 2 single beds overlooking the lake. Toilets and showers were shared, but they were exceptionally clean. It is a characterful property with lots of old furniture and artefacts, which were interesting to see, as well as decorative. There is a nice lounge area where you can sit and play games of an evening while having a drink from the bar. The on-site restaurant serves breakfast and food until 9pm. Free parking outside and a short walk to Fontana spa/bakery. Highly recommend!

Had a group of 65 ppl for an amazing reunion, all in all a very ambitious and complex event. Everyone was very happy with the place, Laugarvatn and the experience in general. The breakfast and the pizza buffet were excellent. Thank you and keep up the good job everyone!

J'ai passé deux nuits en chambre double dans cette guesthouse, j'en garderai un très bon souvenir. Chambre agréables et cosy, personnel charmant, excellent petit déjeuner avec un large choix de céréales. Situé à quelques pas des sources chaudes de Fontana spa et idéalement situé dans la région du cercle d'or, parfait pour visiter les Geysirs et Gulfoss.

Just be aware that this is not a hotel, it is a hostel. We booked a family room and shared a bathroom with the entire 3rd floor which meant it was occupied the majority of the time. Plus there is no shower on the 3rd floor, only on the 2nd. The building itself is nice and the restaurant was actually quite good. The accomodation itself is clean but basic and the bathroom situation is limiting.

Très peu de matériel pour la cuisine, pas du tout à la hauteur d’une auberge de jeunesse ou d’un guest house.
Heureusement qu’il y avait un billard pour remonter le niveau
