Classic Estes Park cabin in historic wooded neighborhood next to Rocky Mountain National Park (20-NCD0362). Built in 1921 and restored in 2019, this cabin is situated to view Longs Peak and Twin Sisters Peak. It backs up to a meadow where deer and elk frequently browse during all seasons. Quintessential Estes Park architectural elements, such as a moss rock fireplace and antler door handles, are found throughout the cabin. A few minutes from the National Park entrance as well as downtown Estes Park.THE SPACEThis well-reviewed, super-clean, beautiful and cozy cabin is nestled in the trees within a historic neighborhood of early twentieth century Colorado cabins. It offers tranquility and majestic views of one of the most beautiful sections of the Rocky Mountains. The cabin is a perfect place to stay if you are interested in viewing wildlife, fishing, hiking, snowshoeing, backcountry skiing, mountaineering, climbing, writing or just escaping to the mountains to relax. It is hard to stay any closer to Rocky Mountain National Park (4 minute drive to the National Park entrance station), but the cabin is also walking distance to a great breakfast burrito, a country market, and a few of Estes Park's best restaurants. An 8 minute drive gets you to downtown Estes Park or the historic Stanley Hotel. The cabin was completely restored in 2019 to modern standards but maintains its character from 1921. Stay connected with good WiFi, listen to music on the stereo (bluetooth or aux plug connection), catch a movie on the Smart Fire TV, or lose yourself in one of the eclectic novels or Rocky Mountain National Park hiking and nature guides. The cabin is located in a small cluster of historic cabins so it is important to respect the neighbors and the wildlife. The cabin is 650 square feet with a living area, dining area, kitchen, bathroom with shower and 2 cozy (small) bedrooms. A rustic porch has incredible mountain views and is a great place to relax.BEDROOMSThe bedrooms are small, cozy, and offer great natural light. One bedroom has a double bed (new Tuft and Needle mattress) and the window faces a small, beautiful meadow that invites elk, deer, bobcats, bears, fox, coyote, and other mountain critters. The other bedroom has a single bed and a single pullout trundle (pictured), and an elk antler door handle.DINING AND LIVING AREASThe dining area includes a large, antique wooden table, pine chairs and an original built-in bench where decades of mountain-goers ate meals, played games and cards (included), and reminisced about great days in nature. The living area couch and reading chair are weathered perfectly and offer mountain views and a comfy place to read or drink a glass of wine. The exquisite stone fireplace was built by a prolific, local mason and serves as the focal point for the cabin interior. A convenient electric fireplace insert provides warmth and ambiance.KITCHENThe kitchen has a distinct cabin charm. Appliances include a gas stove, a small oven, a microwave and a modern retro refrigerator with freezer. The cabin is outfitted with a drip coffee maker and local organic coffee, as well as all the pots, pans, cutlery and dishes for a comfortable stay.GUEST ACCESSGuests have complete access to the property, including the front yard and porch. The property boundary is just beyond the back door, so guests are asked to respect the neighbor's property and not wander into the open meadow behind the house. We have parking for 2 cars.SELECT REVIEWSTyler 11/2020 "This cabin is perfect!!! My family of four had the greatest time. It’s cozy and quaint in a perfect location. Erik was so helpful with check in and the place was spotless. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a little thanksgiving dinner. Such a great place to stay!"Kris 8/2020 "Absolutely perfect location for access to RMNP. Super clean and very cozy. My 12 year old son and had a trip of a lifetime. We would definitely stay here again if we make it back to RMNP again."Courtney 7/2020 "Rivendell is a dream come true. It’s one of the most cozy, unique places I have ever stayed. The view, the wooden craftsmanship touches, the perfect little cabin kitchen, the close proximity to RMNP... I could go on and on about the magic of Erik’s place. I can’t wait to return someday!"Bethany 3/2020 "The cabin was really beyond what I expected. You’re greeted by small Rivendell sign and small stained glass window on the front door on a patio facing the mountains. So there’s a bit of curiosity walking into the place. The cabin itself is stocked with everything you need and then some. I was happy to find some treats waiting for me along with a full bookcase (including Sandra Cisneros)! The bed was comfortable and room was warm. I stayed by myself but it’s a good size for a small family. There are games, a blow dryer, outlets, and some great local tips for your outdoor adventure. Definitely recommend this spot! Extra plus: it was really cool to see the unique and antique features all around this little hobbit house.About pets:No pets allowed.About checkOut:Check out before 10:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.About customRules:Be careful to not bother the neighbors. GGuest UserNice, close location close to one of the Rocky Mountain State Park entrances. We had room #10 with the jacuzzi whirlpool. It was a little dated - the tile and tub are pink, but it worked fine and my 7 year son LOVED taking a bath in it. Do be aware that the main bed in this space is a murphy bed and the secondary bed is a hide-a-bed. The murphy bed was not the most comfortable thing.

GGuest UserThe front desk staff was very enthusiastic and patiently introduced the hotel's various service facilities. The room was large, clean and tidy, the parking lot was large and free. The surrounding environment was beautiful and close to the highway, but there was no noise, maybe our room was on the back of the highway. The breakfast was great, thumbs up 👍

CCristobal AndresI stayed one night at the Hilton in Fort Collins for a business trip and it was a really good experience. The location made things easy since it’s close to downtown and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Check-in was simple and the staff were friendly and welcoming right from the start. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The bed was great and I slept well, which is always important when you’re traveling for work. I also liked that there was a good desk setup and the Wi-Fi worked without any issues, so I was able to catch up on emails without stress. I didn’t get a chance to try the gym or restaurant, but the hotel itself felt well taken care of and the lobby had a nice vibe for sitting down or taking a call. Overall, it was exactly what I needed for a quick business trip. Comfortable, efficient, and easy. I’d be happy to stay here again.

GGuest UserLocation was perfect. Fire pits outside were cool. Only downsides: check in was a pain. Line was wrapped around into the hotels bar/ eatery. There were 30 people waiting just to check in around 4 pm on a Sunday. Also- gym was not as pictured- only a couple sets of free weights. We specifically choose our hotels based on gyms so this was a big drawback for us. Someone had their dog in their room barking incessantly for hours. Positives: rooms were clean, spacious, and best of all staff was phenomenal. Super nice people. Latitude 105 Alehouse is connected to the hotel and a HUGE perk. Would recommend staying here overall

DDaniel WayneThe location is a bit far outside from Old Town Fort Collins, but it is closer to the main highway. One point I was disappointed in was the lack of guest laundry services despite both the building map and the emergency exit map on the room doorway listing it; it’s been converted into a bathroom for staff. Additionally, the doorway for the room had a large gap underneath it, making it all too easy to hear people outside in the hallway.

TtiffanyThe hotel was nice enough, but pictures are nicer then the actually place. Looks like a motel vs what is advertised so I was a little disappointed. Hot tub was down and I picked the hotel for location and hot tub. Also the pool and hot tub are a totally separate building and you have to walk outside to get to it and it wasn’t warm outside so that was disappointing. It wasn’t advertised that way either, breakfast was mediocre. Front desk was nice and rooms were clean.

DDustin PaulFriendly staff and very nice hotel. Breakfast was great and the property is right off the interstate. If I have to be picky, my only complaints include the following: Noisy bathroom fan, staff shortage (waited on hold forever trying to call front desk) and the fitness room was not regularly serviced. The water machine was broke, one of the bikes had a broken mechanism and one of the treadmills sounded like it was going to explode. Still get 5 stars though as the hotel was otherwise great.

HHONGIn the graduation season, there are more people who may go to the school graduation ceremony. To be honest, the price is not cheap and catch up with the price of domestic five-star hotels. The overall hotel can not say bad, but can not compliment the service, especially the room cleaning. Actually, one day, I couldn’t clean it. The next day I cleaned the bathtub without washing the water. The towel was not given. The facial tissue was empty and I didn’t know how to add it. The bathtub was very blocked. As a result, I found out a lot of hair. It was speechless. . Breakfast is more general, the odd thing is that there is only one person serving in the breakfast room (doing everything), so there is always something to eat. The young man at the front desk was very good, but after two days of booking, I found that the actual schedule needed to live for one more day. The two orders had to be re-updated and updated, which was a bit rigid.
