The room we stayed was spacious and very clean.  It was facing the red river right next to the border bridge and hence the night scene was so fantastic.  The ground floor lobby and the reception area was large and well decorated.  The hotel provided the breakfast with various kinds of food including traditional Chinese, Vietnamese and Western styles.  Besides, the hotel was located in a quiet street with some street shops within walking distance. I would highly recommend this hotel if you come to Lao Cai.

The location is good. It's by the Red River and it's strategically located less than 1km away from the Chinese-Vietnamese border. There're many convenience stores, restaurants, and coffee shops which make it very convenient. The room is spacious and clean. The staff, although not very proficient in English, did try their best to communicate with me. The limited breakfast options is the only "wish could be better" for me but this is more than made up for by just how cheap their room rates are! As a business traveler, this hotel goes on my list of preferred vendors.

Hotel staff are helpful. Communication will be a bit of a problems due to language barrier. Eatery are walking distance. Mainly Vietnamese food. Transport wise Taxi don't ran by metre.

The room was large, elegant, and spacious. I loved it. The breakfast options were quite good. It's close to the river, with beautiful views. It's also very convenient for shopping. I'd definitely consider staying here again next time. It's a great value.

The staff were very rude, laughing loudly in the lobby. I asked to bring more pillows for my two foreign friends because the pillows in the closet had hair. The receptionist did not see me standing at the counter, and said "The Vietnamese woman said the pillow had hair, bring another pillow", a very disrespectful way of speaking to customers, polite in front of them but behind their backs, using impolite words. Then, probably seeing me standing there, she stopped talking. Obviously, a 4-star hotel has such unprofessional staff training.

The room was decent; I always stay at Mengqing Hotel when I'm on business trips. The facilities are a bit old, though. The staff are very welcoming and greet you warmly. The breakfast selection is varied. The hotel has a gym.
