Homewood Suites by Hilton Lansing Eastwood

This hotel is great .. great location . Nice common areas and activities . The rooms are very nice and hotel staff is amazing.

Unfortunately, this property is in significant disrepair. We were moved to 3 different rooms before we had accommodations that were marginally acceptable for our one week stay. First suite, facing lighted parking lot and multiple city lights, had no room darkening blind in the bedroom. The second suite had no electricity in the bedroom…no outlets, lamps, etc. In addition, the stile was missing on the entry door making entry and exit difficult. The 3rd room had obviously not been used in some time as every surface was covered with dust. When the heat was turned on, the smell of burning dust lasted over an hour. Had we not been exhausted, ( and Homecoming weekend at MSU) we would have looked for a different hotel.

I checked in the day before as I am traveling for business & I prefer a first floor room if I can get it. It was available, so I was super happy until I arrived. I like a key card because my cell phone is unreliable so when he handed the key card & it had a 4th floor room, I said no, I checked in already & it’s room 106. He said oh, there isn’t a room attached to your reservation so my theory is that my room was given away. He said there’s only the 4th or 6th floor is available I said 4th is fine as long as it’s close to the elevator which he said it was. Well, it’s not so when I got in the room, I called down & he then told me it was the last room available. Weird since he just said there was a room on the 6th floor too. I wasn’t happy, but then asked if I could at least get my water for being a diamond member. He did bring it up for me. I thought this hotel was newer but it is already worn & tired with chunks missing out of the furniture. This is not the place to stay. Not very welcoming & not what I expect from a Hilton property.

We were a long term stay due to water damage in my house. During our long term stay of over a month, housekeeping came to my room exactly twice and my daughter’s room exactly never. We ended up washing our own linens and towels because even when we asked housekeeping to clean the rooms, they never did. Imagine a carpet not being vacuumed for OVER A MONTH! With children and pets! Sorry but this is disgusting and probably a health code violation. Short staffed or not. Are we supposed to purchase vacuums and do it ourselves just like the laundry? Maybe we should get paid for doing the work of the staff. Then they are trying to charge me damages and extra cleaning fees. While I was there, there were also long term guests from Amazon staying there. We met and became friends during the socials. They also have stories, and are willing to collaborate things such as the linen closet not being locked (safety violation) and guests going in there to get their own linens. Then, before they even sent me a bill for alleged damages, tried to charge my bank card. When the first (full) amount didn’t go through, they reduced it in increments of 25 or 50 until they finally got an amount to work. I forwarded my complaints and concerns to corporate, was given a case number, yet they STILL KEEP CALLING, trying to collect money from me. I have zero interest in speaking to any of them. Let’s talk next about the electrical issues. I had to change rooms because the circuits kept popping every time the microwave would turn on. The last time it happened, I smelled plastic burning. Then there was the incident of a clogged toilet that took 3 entire days to get to. After repeated requests for maintenance. I finally went down and asked for a plunger to do it myself and then suddenly there was a staff member to do it. The pool was closed more than open. The food was sometimes embarrassing to call food (dehydrated chicken jerky anyone?) There were cars that got broken into and drunk guests loudly fighting in the hallways. And not ONCE was I ever anything but polite and kind to the staff. And yet, even though they made a really good amount from insurance, even though our rooms were never cleaned, even though there were a ton of issues during our stay, they are greedily trying to take my money too. If you have to stay somewhere long term, please look at other options. This place is not up to what you would expect from Hilton.

We stayed 2 nights for a family wedding. We check in on June 14th. After 3 rooms and an afternoon of unpacking and repacking, we found a room that was safely inhabitable. There were electrical safety issues with repeated circuit board tripping. The air conditioner in the first room was totally inoperable. Why this was unreported by housekeeping is not understandable. The second room, had one broken lamp and 2 lamps that tripped the circuit breakers. Maintenance deemed the room unsafe. At this point, we had totally unpacked. After repacking to move yet again to the THIRD room, we found the electrical breaker had tripped the entry lights and lights above the sink. Maintenance reset the breaker and the lights and air conditioner worked for the remainder of our stay. The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes leaving a minimally few clean to use. The electrical breaker had tripped the dishwasher. I put my microwave popcorn in a brown paper bag I brought as there were no clean bowls to use. When I requested more Kleenex and some clean dishes, I was told that there was no one available to deliver them. At this point they offered me an insulting $20 for my trouble.

We stayed here five days for a house renovation with our 13-year-old indoor-only cat. The first impression is the outside and the lobby is perfect. Go into your room. If it was cleaned at all, the bed was thrown together half-made. The room was filthy! Brown stains on the carpet, The walls & doors had a splatter of some sort on them. The " fully equipped kitchen" has no oven, a microwave and two pan stove top. Two pans were unusable and had rust and dried molded food. All the dishes were in the dishwasher that needed to be rerun. The air conditioner was abnormally loud and scared our cat. The hotel was noisy overall. You could hear others in their room above and beside us. The WORST PART, OUR CAT, CAME HOME WITH FLEAS!!!!!!! Our cat has NEVER had fleas!!! Sadly, this was one of a few choices to stay with a cat, and we were EXTREMELY disappointed. Two towels for a 5-night stay, Our cost was $1,320.782 is not what you expect to pay for filth and fleas; this is inexcusable. We called to inform them of the fleas. No apology was given, "they would let the staff know"!!! I would never recommend this hotel to anyone and no one with a family pet who is not already on a poison for fleas. Trust us, find somewhere else to stay!!!

Great location, appreciate all the amenities, no fuss parking…all great Issues: a couple days into my stay, I noticed a clothing tag inside the sheets/ under the comforter of the bed, which said to me they didn’t change the sheets in between guests The remote was broken to the tv when I arrived. They switched it out and fixed it, but had me come downstairs to get vs bring it up Other than that, great stay

If you like your money taken out of your wallet by the cleaning staff this is the place to go. Informed the manager that money was missing and all she did was argue with me that her staff would never do that. The cleaning staff admitted to finding the wallet and when we went to pick it up from the hotel 250$ was missing out of the wallet.

This is our second or third stay and we had a great experience! The hotel is clean, comfortable, and well appointed. It is conveniently located. And the staff was helpful and welcoming. The beds are comfortable and when we asked for more towels, the staff was quick to bring them.
