Visited this enchanting hotel and Michelin star restaurant as a surprise ‘special birthday’ treat with my partner … and what a treat this was! The hotel immediately had such a warm and inviting atmosphere and our room was so comfortable and spacious and with such beautiful views across the countryside. The restaurant and with its exceptional gourmet menu, certainly didn’t disappoint with each innovative dish so beautifully presented that I was in awe as each dish appeared! My partner also had the flight of wine and the staff were all so knowledgeable, kind and attentive on every aspect of service. This visit has certainly provided me with a memorable experience like no other and one that I will treasure forever. Thank you all so much for this ultimate fine dining experience and thank you Chris for such an amazing birthday gift ✨

After a lovely warm welcome, we had a couple of cocktails in the bar. Service by the girls was excellent. Restaurant service was very disjointed, the table next to us were forgotten about for at least 30-40mins. First 2 dishes were fantastic and we thought can’t wait for the rest to come. Very disappointing the next 3 dishes pigeon,cod and venison very poor. The dessert was great. All in all this place has just been voted in the top 3? Very disappointing meal, hap hazard service and over priced for the quality of cooking. Also watching the kitchen cam from our room the chef on desserts helping him self to what I think was ice cream but double dipping with the same spoon then returning the container to the fridge or freezer. If your showing your kitchen off tell your chefs there being watched. Would we return, No !!

The food offerings cannot be faulted with an exceptional standard displayed in the evening and at breakfast. However the hotel itself is ‘tired’. Plastic flowers on table a no no! Poor furnishings and old fittings. Really comfy bed. Really pleasant staff but an upgrade to location definitely required.

We came here using a voucher I had been given for my 70th birthday and our stay was just perfect. Our deluxe bedroom was lovely and spacious and very comfortable. Dinner was absolutely wonderful. We have been to other Michelin star restaurants but this was definitely the best we have been too. The flavours were just amazing. Breakfast too was lovely and beautifully presented. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the service was excellent. A very enjoyable stay.

Stayed for a 3 night break. Room was clean and spacious although decor was a bit dark for our preference and overlooked the additional accommodation so no view other than that building. Food was tasty but service was drawn out, one meal actually took 4 hours from sitting down to coffee being served! Only the bar / conservatory area to sit in, no other lounge areas quietly tucked away to chill out with a book. For us this did not live up to our expectation for a relaxing break.

We stayed for our Ruby Anniversary. Staff are amazing. Friendly, attentive and professional. Our Garden room was excellent. Spacious, comfortable and with everything you would need. Shame we couldn’t enjoy our garden and also terrace as weather changeable. The Hotel is so comfortable - nice places to sit in the lounge for drinks and beautiful restaurant. Staff so friendly. The food is outstanding. 5 course Gourmet menu was fabulous. Thank you Lisa & team. So tasty and beautifully presented. Some dishes too pretty to eat. Breakfast and lunch too were delicious. Our anniversary was faultless and we hope to return very soon.

Lovely stay at Northcote again to celebrate birthday. Room in the house is lovely and convenient for the bar and restaurant. the staff are so welcoming and friendly. The highlight as always is dinner, a gourmet five course menu. All beautiful and how do they get so much flavour into the food. one day I'm going to ask if I can have a whole meal of those little starter snacks, they are so tasty. But maybe not, then I'd miss all the other delights. Wild Turbot was a favourite this time but all so good and the wines were also spot on.
