Property Description
Find your Peace at "RiverPeace" on the Mckenzie. Escape from your everyday worries to this Mckenzie River paradise! This beautifully updated classic cabin offers a brand new deck just 15 feet above the rushing glacier fed waters of the pristine Mckenzie River. Relax on the deck or inside the screened in covered porch with the same view up and down the river. Inside, you'll find exactly what you're looking for -- as this cabin offers a vintage feel with a modern twist. Most of the cabin is adorned with wonderfully crafted natural wood paneling and carpeted. The kitchen is completely modern, new and fully equipped. The beds are comfortable and the bedding is all new. There is a private master bedroom with a queen bed, another large separate bedroom with queen and a new futon, and still another queen size sofa sleeper sits in the living room. The large extra bedroom offers a Roku streaming TV, so bring your log in info with you for any of the streaming services you enjoy. The large living room offers cozy furniture in a classic "woodsy" atmosphere. There are several games available and a large coffee table too. The kitchen has a dining table with seating for 4 and the outdoor table can seat many more. The screened in, covered porch will probably become your favorite place as you watch the river flowing by and your concerns of the day fade away. Enjoy 100 feet of river frontage and one of the best views on the river. In the rainy season months, there's a fire pit to enjoy. We are located in the preferred area, far from the highway and its all river sound -- nothing else. We're also on the edge of the Willamette National Forest and The Three Sisters Wilderness area. Terwilliger (Cougar) Hot Springs is just 15 minutes close. Deer Creek Hot Springs is just 10 minutes close. Belknap Hot Springs is just 8 minutes close. Tokatee Golf Course is within just a few miles away and is one of the highest regarded public courses in the country. The steelhead and salmon runs are real. The trout are huge too. Get a guide or ask Jonathan where to fish from the shore. There are more hiking trails than you can possibly hike, including the famous "Mckenzie River Trail" -- extending over 30 miles from Mckenzie Bridge (just 3 miles) to Fish Lake. Make sure you see Sahalie Falls, Koosah Falls, and Tamolitch Falls (The Blue Pool) -- all just 20 minutes from the cabin. Cougar and Blue River Reservoirs are located with 15 minutes of the cabin. Make sure you see the lava flows of the Old Pass 242 in the summer months. Look up Dee Wright Observatory. There are three wonderful restaurants within 3 miles and a great little store with gas and diesel available too. The Mckenzie General Store and Obsidian Grill offer live music twice a week in the summer months and every so often in the off season. -- check them out for sure! Hoodoo Ski Bowl is just 45 minutes east for great winter time snow activities like skiing (both cross country and downhill), snowboarding, and sledding. Hoodoo even offers night sking with fully lit runs. Snow mobiling on endless logging roads is another fun winter activity we enjoy. This cabin and it's intimate riverside experience may be exactly all you want -- even though there's plenty to do -- that's why we know you'll be back many times. Jonathan and Lisa live in the area and are available for any other questions you have, including suggestions for adventures and dining.
