Hyatt House Denver Lakewood Belmar

Everything about our stay was as expected. Based on some of the lower reviews on here I was worried that some things, like the bathroom, breakfast and parking, would be subpar. Our room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was clean as well and we had no issues with the sliding door. The breakfast was fairly basic but had a variety of grains, fruit and hot food available. We had no need to go outside of the hotel for coffee or food in the morning. While there are some signs in the parking lot that indicate “Target only”, there are an equal number that indicate “Hyatt parking”. It was clear to us that the parking pad directly outside of the hotel is shared between Hyatt and Target. We attended a concert at red rocks, and explored both Golden and Garden of the Gods. With a rental car, the location of Hyatt House was perfect for us. Close proximity to Target, Whole Foods, a liquor store and lots of other shopping made it easy for us to pick up any needed items during our stay.

Our second week-long stay here. We come from oregon to visit family in lakewood, and this place is great. Convenient, clean, friendly staff, great breakfast, lots of shops ranging from Target to Dick's SG to upscale liquors. Whole Foods has an enormous store a block away. Heaven Ice Cream is the way to end the day. The WiFi works great; free terminals in lobby. Excellent parks in Lakewood for exercise, birdwatching, etc. We do not have a single bad word to say about this place; and very many great memories and thoughts.

This hotel was not remotely close to what I saw online when booking. We were given a room with holes in the carpet, broken baseboards, marks on the walls, very poorly done repairs (mudding near the bath tub which appeared to have had prior water damage), and very dirty blinds. We were told the hotel was fully booked, so we would have to stay in that room for the night. In their defense, we were given a better room the second night and 5,000 points (which MAYBE covers 1/2 a night's stay) - in my opinion, this was not remotely adequate to make up for the experience we had. I've stayed at a handful of Hyatt's over the years and always had a great experience, so this was by far the worst I've had.

The location of this hotel was excellent. The staff was very nice and they helped with all of the issues we had. The breakfast was not good, and the room was a bit worn. When we arrived, there was something all over the floor in the kitchen that looked like cat litter. The person at the front desk came up and vacuumed it up right away. She mentioned that she would talk to her supervisor about what they could do for the first night since we came into the room and had this issue. Unfortunately, nothing came of that. The furniture is worn a bit, and the front of the cabinet that had the TV on it fell off and almost hit my foot 10 minutes after the front desk person came up to vacuum up the cat litter. I did let them know about that as well. All in all, it was fine, but the rooms need a little TLC.

Everything was great at this hotel. The only thing that was missing was a step in the shower where I could put my foot to shave my legs.
