The rooms are very clean. Minor repairs needed thru out the building. Hot breakfast..only thing they had hot was the waffles. Very scarce breakfast options. Young women at the front desk needs "retraining" in hospitality. All the other staff was very good.

Dirty and a shame they don’t respect the guest enough to cleanse the rooms and halls. I could have posted 100 photos but these should give you an idea.The address may say Golden but it’s more like fools gold. It was sold out so if it’s what you can afford, go for it.

It was SO so dirty! The sheets were not changed as I could see the wrinkle marks where each person previously slept. The hot tub did not work and had not for some time per the worker. The toilet and seat weren't clean and had brown stains. The fridge didn't work. The wall paper was peeling. The elevator was frightening. The floor numbers didn't light up when pressed - it was totally suspect. I saw them using the hand towels to clean floors. Terrible!

We first checked into our room and it was DIRTY. We found a bug on the chair which resembled a bedbug and there were stains all over the floor and on the sheets as well. We went to the front and they got us into a new room. We checked the beds and found no stains or bugs but there were still stains on the walls and the toilet wouldn’t flush:( very disappointed for the ammount of money i paid. Do not recommend

It should have been a warning when I saw a teenager leaping from a first floor window only to discover it wasn't a naughty guest but an owner? manager's? child. After a 4-hour drive, I was truly looking forward to a hot soak and room service meal. Having prepaid for my room, I was greeted with the words, 'How do you plan to pay for your deposit?' Deposit for what? 'We require a $100 damage deposit.' (They had a sign posted saying $150 damage deposit.) I have NEVER heard of something like this but I'm an older woman traveling alone, so I handed over the $100. Then they demanded to photocopy my driver's license. There was no place to put my handbag and neither the owner/manager? or window-jumping girl were willing to leave one of the only two lounge chairs in the lobby, and nobody offered to assist with my bag. After 5 minutes in my room, I went back to the desk and told them I didn't want to be charged for the pre-existing damages: Dirty drapes partially off the hook, chairs with some kind of moisture stains, a broken window frame with broken screen and first floor window that doesn't lock. Black mold around the tub with a broken stopper. Broken outlet covers, filthy unplugged phone. There was no 'I'm sorry' or offer to clean the room or give me a cleaner room. Then, it got better. The whole thing about them having room service is untrue. So, no soak, no room service. When I checked out and asked for my deposit it was returned slowly and reluctantly. Desk clerk looked a little worried when I asked for the photocopy of my driver's license. My call to customer service confirmed that Quality Inns do not require a damage deposit. I love leaving good reviews for good service but I found nothing here except sketchy behavior and a dirty, dilapidated room.

On Christmas night Mary & Joseph were at least offered the barn....not so at this place! 2023 Christmas day I made a reservation for 2 nights for my adult grandaughter stranded in Golden. When she arrived they demanded $200 CASH to allow her access to the reserved room. Pure extortion & threats followed when she broke into tears after being told I would still have to pay for the room anyway!! Luckily the Baymont across the street do not resort to such criminal actions toward their guests and we thank them for that. NEVER EVER stay here if you want to be treated with just a modicum of respect...Excluding Choice Hotels from MY traveling itinerary has now made my choices so much easier..

AVOID at all costs this location: Quality Inn & Suites Golden - Denver West. On my arrival for my room, purchased far in advance through Traveluro, my reserved room was not cleaned, the bed still unmade. I was offered a second room and the bath tub was not clean and there were all sorts of dark smears on the walls in the main room. There was so much bad air freshener in the building, I could taste it for an hour and a half after my departure. Front desk agent was on the phone repeatedly with his general manager about the situation. When I said I would not stay and requested a refund, he said they had to make it through the online contracting company Traveluro. 7 days later, having heard nothing, nor received refund, I contacted Traveluro. They emailed me to let me know that Quality Inn & Suites Golden - Denver West was not answering their phone calls. If you need a Wonderful Place to Stay, I suggest the Best Western at 3440 S Vance St, Lakewood, CO 80227.

The mattresses were too soft. When lying down, my feet and head were above my pelvis. That's no exaggeration. The second bed in the room was the same (room 218). This time, there were other guests who, after we had gone to bed, were yelling at each other in the hall with plenty of profanity thrown in. My husband was going to go confront them but I managed to stop him. Had he gotten out the door and I needed to call for help, it would have been impossible. The phone required electrical power and was not plugged into the wall. Also, the phone had no cable to connect it to a phone jack. The jack wasn't simply unplugged, it had no cable! My husband mentioned it to the front desk when we checked out but they didn't seem to care. (He left the phone at the desk in disgust.) That brings us to how he discovered the phone was worthless. He tried to call the front desk when I spent 10 minutes trying to get warm water for a shower. All I got was cold. He took the phone to the desk to talk about the lack of hot water and there was a sign stating they were out of hot water for maintenance, not repairs, maintenance! The desk woman mentioned the sign had been posted after midnight. (if he heard correctly, she was soft-spoken) Who schedules maintenance and doesn't warn those relying on a service? Moreover, our rate was non-refundable. Had we been told about the issue at check-in, which we weren't, what could we have done? Breakfast was a joke. There was no meat and no eggs. We stayed at another Quality Inn in Columbia, Missouri the next night and they were the same. Nothing but breads, cereal, yogurt and undercooked waffles. (We watched one person use the waffle maker correctly but get a doughy waffle for his trouble.) When did Quality Inn stop providing a decent breakfast? (We stayed at this location during the height of the pandemic and breakfast was a straight-out-of-the-'fridge bean burrito. We were denied use of the microwave to prevent virus-spread. Told it was a Colorade rule, we assumed it was a one-off occurrence at the time. Clearly, crappy service is the norm, not the exception.) This is the worst hotel we've ever stayed in. We've stayed in hole-in-the wall independent hotels and still had better service! My personal opinion is that this hotel should be removed from the chain of Choice Hotels. Motel 6 is better quality. I have emailed Choice a couple of times now and they are willing to give me 10000 points to resolve this even though I want a refund. That's why I say you shouldn't stay at any Choice hotel. When things go bad, they WON'T have your back!

STAY AWAY! They have bed bugs - and they know it!!! The physical condition is not as pictured. It’s pretty run down. No hot breakfast. No protein. All carbs. The manager doesn’t care. So far Choice Hotels doesn’t seem to care.
