High Fold Guest House

Jackie was very welcoming, friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Nothing was too much trouble for her and I didn't lack for anything in my room which was immaculate and clean. Fantastic powerful shower with a roomy cabinet. A very comfy bed and amazing views from both windows. Everything you could think of or need for a stay was provided. The cooked breakfast was delicious. I forgot my phone charging lead but Jackie even managed to tell me the nearest place that sells them and managed to find one to loan me. All in all, a very enjoyable stay and I would certainly stay at High Fold again.

Absolutely delightful hidden gem. Jackie is a super host, lots of extras like home baked cakes in the room and the breakfasts were made to order and delicious. The room was spacious with a large four poster bed with views to die for! A short 15 minute walk takes you to the Mortal Man pub and further up the road is the Queens Head pub. Would highly recommend!

What a wonderful stay my daughter and I had. The room was spacious, immaculate ly clean and had everything we needed, including a little bag of essentials, things that you may have forgotten to bring. Bed was enormous and comfortable. The view from the window was stunning and the patio area outside would have been wonderful to sit out on and admire the scenery, had the weather been a little better. When we arrived there was some delicious home made cake waiting for us and quality teas, coffees and fresh milk. The room had a little fridge too! It felt like nothing had been over looked..The breakfast was cooked to order with good quality produce, and also fresh fruit, jams etc. Jackie was a lovely host, very friendly, welcoming, snd knows the area well.I cannot think of one negative thing to say. Would definitely recommend and hopefully will visit again in the future!

Excellent guest house. Jackie is wonderful - she is very helpful and she has very good local knowledge! The rooms are really well-appointed and the breakfast is brilliant. We stayed for two days in the first week of January and the rooms were lovely and warm and very welcoming. Really good views of the fells from all rooms. Lots of good walking, short and long, low and high, direct from the guest house. We will definitely be booking in the future to stay again!

Thank you Jackie for sharing your lovely home with us, we had a wonderful stay. Thank you for your kindness in allowing us to park early because we were going walking, even checking in early because our rooms were ready. We had a fabulous relaxing stay, stunning views from the terrace, lovely cake or biscuits each day, delicious breakfast, extra little touches to make our stay more comfortable were really appreciated. Thank you, we will definitely be back.

If you are coming to the English Lake District, you will be very lucky if you are able to stay at this exquisite B&B. The view is stunning, the air is fresh, the bed and linens were top notch, the breakfast is to die for, and Jackie, the hostess is gracious and so helpful. She puts freshly baked nibbles in your room each day. There is coffee, tea, and a small refrigerator in the room. You can have a choice for a freshly cooked breakfast, toast and jam, yogurt and fresh fruit, tea or coffee. We stayed six lovely nights in the king room up on the second floor and we could hear sheep bleating occasionally. There is a pub within walking distance which offers guests at High Fold a discount and a restaurant a mile and a half away, also with a discount. We feel blessed to have been able to stay here.
