Kickback Cottages

Cottage 7 was extremely dirty on both walls, kitchen and bathroom. Carpets were badly stained in bedroom and bedding was stained with indescribable filth. We had to sleep with the windows open as the room was filled with a damp musty smell. There is no real service on site and reception is unmanned

This place is so DIRTY. My son and I went here for a look for short term Accommodation for him and my grandson, it is horrible never been cleaned it smell like pee and god no what else. it need a new over hall and new owners that's for sure. on leaving the place my ankles where so itchy I had red bloches all over me turn out I had Scabies and I did not even stay there. I would not even take my pets here let alone my family.

We arrived at 2pm, and the room wasn’t ready. That’s ok, things happen, so we came back an hour later at owners request. When we walked in a strong smell of bleach filled the room. We thought ok, at least it’s clean. However, once the floors dried and the bleach smell dissipated, the smell of urine filled the air. We then noticed the floor beside the toilet was uneven, dangerous looking and very stained. Soon further inspection there was brown gunk in bathroom cupboards. Old spilled milk in fridge and mould around windows and vents. Stains on linen, and a used tissue in wardrobe. The oven looked like it had never been cleaned. The kitchen bench water damaged and lifting next to the oven. The TV had no reception. And it wasn’t the kitchen sponge and dishcloth’s first rodeo. The mould smell from under the sink almost took over the smell of urine when opened. We left after 10 mins, emailing the owner and saying we weren’t staying due to the cleanliness of the room. He offered to change rooms but no refund. After pursuing things further he offered us a $10 agoda credit. I’ve never seen such disregard for cleanliness in accommodation in Australia.

The cottage was dirty, their was only two towels provided for the six people it was booked for and no one available to ask for more , and they were able to somehow charge a further $40.00 to my credit card , after the required amount was taken out resulting in me having to cancel my card , I would never stay there again.

The property has obviously been neglected for some time. Whilst we had clean linen, and 2 towels (for 6 of us), it had not been cleaned for some time and certainly not the bathrooms. Communication with the owner was difficult, the number on the website diverts to a mobile which does not belong to the owner.

I have never written negative reviews on accommodations before, but in this case I find that I have too. Im doing this for multiple reasons: 1st being I’m so angry and annoyed with this accomodation and management for totally being ripped off. And 2nd to make the rest of the public aware off this accomodation, and management. You may also be asking why didn’t we just leave. Well lakes was fully booked, and I had paid via booking app (I wouldn’t have gotten my money back.) and I do have to admit, at least we had a bed and a roof over our head. We (me, husband & small puppy) stayed for 2 nights. Paid via booking sight, we were not expecting to pay for our puppy, BUT when we arrived management informed and charged us of $150 extra, OMG, never have I pd that much for my small puppy to stay with us, alway been $35 to $50 at the most. (absolutely outrageous) We booked via Agoda site it doesn’t say anything about charges for dog!! We are totally disappointed in this accommodation. We’ve stayed in lots of places, and this has to be the worst we’ve ever stayed in. Dirty, stains in basin, cobwebs, walls scratched, floor uneven, with bubble in vinyl flooring and dirty vinyl sofas. Had no towels, (till we asked) and no coffee, sugar or even had wifi for that matter and web site states all of the above was included. But was NOT. Our bar fridge kept leaking water onto the floor, and didn’t freeze ice, (till the next night we were there,) and it barely kept our drinks cold. The queen bed had a single bed sheet, draped from head to toe, (did not cover sides off bed) It would have been nice to have had a small coffee table. I definitely would not recommend this accommodation at in its current state. Please do not be fooled by pictures, they are old. This establishment is run down and tired, needs major work to get it up to standard.
