After returning tonight from our Tasmanian Adventure we can honestly say we have found a true gem that is Currawong Lakes ! In a remote corner of the Tassie , located on 2000 acres and surrounded by pristine and rugged forests lies an eco retreat opportunity like no other ! The rugged and thick, uniquely Australian bush is a true treasure and Richard and Meryn are the custodians of something very special. Whether it be that you are a trout fisherman or deer enthusiast, looking for interesting extra activities such as clay shooting ,an eco warrior or just wanting peace and solitude this is the place for you. Try it out and we promise you will not be disappointed. Beautifully appointed with everything you need but remote enough to feel isolated, you are surrounded by nothing but clear, fresh air and an ecological wonderland! There are creature comfort s and it is for you to make it all possible! There are some interesting activities and opportunities abound at every corner !We dare you to have the experience of a lifetime!

Just back from Currawong Lakes where we stayed 3 nights in a bush cabin. Had a lovely time. The cabin was well fitted out with very comfortable large beds. An adequate kitchen and even a washing machine (we had just come out from the Central Plateau where we had camped for 4 days) ! Although there was no phone signal or internet at the bush cabins, they have just installed starlink at the Lakehouse and Hillstone Hall so it is possible to "steal" some bandwidth and make wifi phone calls from these spots. Unfortunately the fishing was slow despite the reasonable weather conditions with minimal insect hatches and not much surface activity, however based on our Central Plateau experience, it was happening all over Tasmania. The main road in is a high standard dirt road. Lake Leake is just 10mins up the road and is worth a look. The Lake Leake inn is also worth a visit! Food etc can be bought at an IGA in Campbell Town. There is also a BWS there for the more important supplies! Special thanks to Richard who helped us take a wheel off our 4wd to extract a small rock that had found its way into the ?brake mechanism and was making a horrible noise. Lots of birds, echidnas, wombats, wallabies, pheasants and deer! Had a great break, thank you Currawong Lakes!

Fun away day of clay shooting and fly fishing. So well-organised. The shot guns were Beretta's and the cute club house was cosy and welcoming. The traps created 10/12 superb trajectories. Super enjoyable. Then down to the lakes for one on one fly training. Again highly professional staff. Certainly 10/10.
