The Wharf Resort

Luxurious is the word they used to describe this place. Our experience was anything but luxurious. This place is small for a "resort" and old. It might be by the water but all the boats push the oil and debris to the shore so swimming is iffy. the pool is tiny, and was closed our entire stay anyway. Our unit B12, was old, in obvious need of repairs, everything was dusty, and moldy. The HUGE spa in the master was useless for multiple reasons. The list goes on. We stayed for half of our reservation and gave up. For the price that this place cost us, we're very disappointed and cannot recommend it.

Our personal opinion is that this resort is way too expensive for what we actually ended up with. It is referred to as being luxurious in the description, but it was not at all. Our unit, B12, was old, unkempt, dirty, and moldy. We used a large can of Lysol to decontaminate the surfaces that we could. The dishes were dirty so we pulled everything out and ran it through the dish washer with the heated dry cycle. There were blood spots on the mattress cover which we found when checking for bedbugs. Bullet casings on the ground in the parking lot. The luxurious hot tub in the master bath is huge, and kind of useless because the hot water ran out before the water was above the lower set of jets, which took 37 minutes for me. The resort itself is very small. There is not really much to do here. This place is definitely not walking friendly. The pool was closed the whole time despite the temps near 90 degrees. The water along the resort is nasty as can be with trash floating by. Wifi is use at your own risk, open to all as it is not even password protected. We lasted 4 days and called it quits. Definitely not going to repeat the experience. This place was literally at complete odds with any other resort we've been to considering the price we paid for this "luxury".
