Lake Fyans Holiday Park

All aspects very good except communication with staff when they couldn't find our prepsyment. It took a numbet of calls re my date of bank transfer to sort it out. Over our 3 nights stay we did not see any of the management staff. Grounds people were excellent.

Never going there again!!! The manager was very rude to my partner when he called them regarding our booking. Then when we arrived she was still impolite & rude upon checking in. We had a query regarding the rate per night for extra guests, as the rate on the website was different to what they wanted to charge us once we got there. There was no linen, pillows or linen on beds when we arrived. We had to go ask them at reception for these. When the manger brought the linen to our cabin, she didn’t even knock! She came straight in, walked into one of the rooms and dumped everything on the bed. The first morning we had planned on cooking pancakes. There was no frying pan. We had to go back to reception to ask for one, where my partner was rudely greeted again & told to have another look but when my partner said that he’d already had a thorough look, she finally gave him one whilst saying “make sure you leave it in the cabin when you leave”. Appalling service!! My sister was charged $20 just to enter the property as a day visitor for a couple of hours. We paid way too much for what we got. Cabin was very small & floors were dirty. I would NOT recommend staying there if you want to be treated poorly. The only good thing about the place is the view of Lake Fyans & the Grampians in the distance.

Visitors have to pay $10 per head. We are both in our 70s, pensioners and wanted to call in and visit friends that were staying at this park. We were only wanting to stay an hour but the rather rude office lady wasn't interested in what we said. Pay $20 for the two of us or don't go in. We have travelled extensively around Australia in our van and have never come across this before. The park looked nice enough but I wouldn't recommend it. G'day Parks said each park creates their own charges and they have no say in it.

Bed was comfortable, spa bath cabin was good. Well equipped for what I needed. The view of the well used dump point was a bit ordinary. It put you off sitting on the deck, especially while eating breakfast. Is there a reason they don't put dump points next to toilets? Great view of sunset at Lake Fyans. Close to food option in Pomonel at Barneys and not that far to Halls Gap and Halls Gap Zoo.

Great cabin close to lake fayan. The cabins were small but had everything. The games room were a hit with the kids especially the table tennis table. The arcade games needed coins. The staff were helpful and friendly. The bathroom was also very small but was heated.

It's my first time at this Caravan Park. Won't come back and will not recommend it to anyone. We chose this location because of the lake; we assumed that the kayaks that were hanging on a stand (dirty with spider webs) would be available for hire. we asked the lady in the office, and we were told that the following day it would be available (mind you, it is the pick time of the holiday, 24/12!!!), but nothing was available, and we ended up not using the lake. That was a huge disappointment. The owner of the caravan park (can't remember her name - she is a blond lady, looks in her 50's) was very lazy, making you feel that everything is an effort. It seems like the owners don't care about anything. The swimming pool was a disgrace!! dirty!! couldn't swim in it without swallowing bugs and leaves... On the door of the office, there were hours of opening. We had to go around the caravan park to look for the owner (when the office was supposed to be staffed), as we needed the pull table balls. Eventually, we found the lazy owner who was PARTING AT THE HALL AND BUSY!! She didn't even apologies she wasn't in the office. So disrespectful!! Taking a high price for Zero service. Next time in the Halls gap, definitely go to the Big 4. It's much better!
