What really makes this hotel great is the staff. They could not have been more helpful, accommodating, and attentive. Our room was spacious, but it would've been nice to have a small dresser, table, or chair instead of the drinks/snacks cart. I felt like there was not enough area to put our stuff. Also, room did have a mild musty, moldy smell. Surprisingly, the road noise at night wasn't an issue at all even though we were towards the front of the property. However, it was disappointing that Wi-Fi, breakfast, and parking are no longer complimentary. They are now charging a "resort fee" of $37/night + tax. We did receive a glass of sparkling wine when we checked in which was lovely. We did enjoy our stay at Casa Laguna and would consider returning.

This is indeed a historic, quirky hotel climbing uphill from the Pacific Coast Highway, a six lane road with a lot of fast traffic. Our room was comfortable, but the fairly recent renovation was more decorative than practical. As an instance, no shaving mirror. The staff are all excellent, and breakfast is unusual and delicious, but the menu doesn’t change. It’s quite a distance from the village, and you really need a car to get there for shopping and restaurants. If you don’t mind that, it’s a very enjoyable and different experience. If you prefer to be at the heart of things, and enjoy speed limited traffic, you could do better to choose a hotel in town.

My wife and I spent three nights at Casa Laguna. We were warmly greeted at check-in and continued to receive first class service throughout our stay. We especially enjoyed the beautifully landscaped grounds and the pool area. Breakfast with mimosas on the outdoor patio started each day in a very relaxing manner. A short walk took us to quiet, beautiful beach. Numerous other beaches and attractions are just a short drive away. We plan to stay there again when we return next year for our annual Laguna Beach visit.

Loved our getaway stay at Casa Laguna. Very romantic ambiance with flowers and fountains throughout the property. Room was small but cozy, bed was comfortable, and we loved the bench outside our Ocean View room where we could sit to enjoy the ocean and sunsets. Would definitely recommend the ocean view rooms without the patio as they’re at the back of the property, so we weren’t bothered by noise from the road. We used the Laguna Trolley to go into town to shop which was very convenient. Staff here were lovely and attentive. We took advantage of the spa and had a couples massage, which we loved. Highly recommend this boutique hotel.

Did you ever have a stay so delightful that you wrote a review within 5 minutes of leaving a property? I haven’t, until my recent stay at Casa Laguna. It was 4 days of pure bliss. The property is beautiful and well maintained harking back to early California of the 1930’s. Terracotta roof and tiles are adorned with bespoke ceramic tiles. Our room offered a panoramic view of the Pacific. There is poolside food service and the pool is heated to a welcoming 82 degrees. The staff was perfectly professional. They managed to be always available and attentive without ever hovering. Special thanks to Nick and Cody for their warm personalities and assistance. When I called the hotel to check on amenities (yes, there is a beach bag with towels and a beach mat in your room) I mentioned in passing that is was my husband’s and my 40th wedding anniversary. Upon check in we were greeted with a delicious bottle of champagne and a heartfelt card. We can’t wait to come back!

This quaint & quirky hotel offers acceptable if not deluxe accommodation. The rooms are in a converted historic building connected by many stairs which may not suit oldies. The staff are incredibly helpful and the hotel offers some niceties such as welcome sangria, afternoon cookies and tea/coffee and on payment of a small supplement, parking and breakfast. Most of the rooms are compact but fairly well appointed with high thread count sheets and nice towels and gowns. A trolley car stops right outside and transports you along the road to Laguna Beach. There are some great restaurants nearby.

I returned last week, after not visiting for 20 years. Casa Laguna has changed for the positive in all of the right ways, while retaining all of the good things that I remember from before. Check in was seamless and Nick's explanation, coupled with a detailed guestbook, left me with very few questions about all of the things at the hotel and in town. I really love that I had no need to rent a car. The trolley stopped right in front of the door and had generous hours for shuttle service. Victoria Beach was walking distance and had a nice sandy portion and a portion that was more rocky with tidal pools and places to explore. The room was immaculately clean and tastefully designed and decorated. There were also lots of little touches, like fresh flowers, that added so much. I had absolutely zero problems with anything, other than one of the power switches for a lamp. Housekeeping was very friendly and attentive to detail. I loved the selections for breakfast in the morning, including many options that work for vegetarians. One can socialize in the main area or have a more solitary place to eat, read, etc in one of the little courtyards on the property. Speaking of the courtyards, the decor and the vegetation were so beautiful. The pool area was wonderfully designed and complete with cushions and padded beach chairs. The view was beautiful and the soft music in the background was a nice addition. There were coolers with infused water near the pool and dining area throughout the day, as well as fresh baked cookies in the evening. While at the pool, staff was very attentive to find out my needs with the kindest of attitudes and a desire to truly help. All staff were very friendly. I spoke mostly with staff members who worked later in the day and want to note how very pleasant Nick, Cody and Robert were in their interactions. I did not get the opportunity for a spa treatment but spoke with someone who had a great massage. I can't wait to come back again. I hope this place stays around forever! I can tell you it won't be another 20 years between now and next time. Thank you!

We truly enjoyed our stay at Casa Laguna. Every staff member was extremely attentive and kind. They had fantastic recommendations and even made a difficult dinner reservation for us. The couple massage was amazing and top notch service. They made our 20 year wedding anniversary one to remember.
