Radisson Blu Hotel, Lagos Ikeja

Guests praised the cleanliness, comfy beds, and courteous staff. They appreciated the breakfast and the pleasant ambiance of the restaurant.

I loved the hotel decor. The lounge chair in my room had a cute unique shape. Bed was cosy. Spacious room. The A/C was too cold. Not good. The gym is basic. It needs bell bars and a squat machine. Great food buffet. I wished for more juice options e.g. pineapple & mint, water melon. Great overall ambience. The poolside is a refreshing chillout, if you are not swimming, in the morning before the heat kicks in :) I highly recommend.

There are some good points to mention but are out weighed by the negatives. My first room had a television that intermittently had the picture freeze or disappear completley and either shut down or even came on again of its own accord and although not serious, I had mentioned it twice to reception where it was noted and not actioned. I am unfortunately working in extremley hot and humid conditions and although the shower is excellent and with good temperature and pressure, the bath took upwards of 90 minutes to fill and again, after mentioning it to reception, nothing was done. My second room was an improvement but the sheets are like course sacking and the pillows are too sort, totally unsupportive and yellow. The inhouse laundry is excellent, speedy and inexpensive. Well done. My second main gripe is the temperature in the public areas...especially the restaurant where seemingly there was absolutely no air conditioning at all at 06:30 in the morning and I was routinely told that they are working on it. Stifling conditions and very unpleasant. However, the poor temperature is not confined to the restaurant as it is also too hot in the main lobby and bar areas. Not comfortable and very unpleasant. The staff are VERY friendly, polite and helpful everywhere I have interacted with them and feel it is the management policies not recognising there is a major problem with the hotel temperature and perhaps sorting the bedlinen and pillow situation. Not a hotel I am likely ever to revisit and more likely a hotel chain I am likely to avoid anywhere else I am working globally. My recommendation is the JW Marriott which is very close by and has a very welcoming lobby temperature and where I intend to spend the next two weeks of my stay.
