Run-down and dirty property, moldy smell everywhere, my handbag molded away in the wardrobe (no compensation received or even response by landlord), uncomfortable hard beds with thin old mattress, random old furniture that looks like being picked up from the street. Building noise right behind the house, water dripping from kitchen ceiling, scratched cheap pans, constantly dirty dishes in the sink, overflowing garbage including the smell, electric fuse dropped out a few times. Thin walls, squeaky door handles, depending what room you have be prepared to constantly wake up during the night or in the morning as soon as someone uses the bathroom or opens their door. There was a broken kettle that was not replaced with the comment that a kettle is a “non-essential” and I should purchase it myself, even though the place is marketed as “furnished”. Also no supply of heaters in the common areas even though it was winter. Upon check-in, the house was in an extremely dirty state. Another guest and I had to deep clean all common areas in order to somewhat feel comfortable, e.g. I cleaned the toilet bowl that was stained with digestive remains of previous guests, deep cleaned the filthy fridge before being able to put my groceries there, mopped all common areas, etc. There is no cleaner looking after the common areas and short-term guests obviously didn’t care. When checking-in, I also had to deep clean my room and wipe down the entire wardrobe before being able to unpack my clothes. And yet, upon check-out the landlord unlawfully withheld an exaggerated amount of my deposit as a “cleaning fee” due to some dust under the table in a corner, even though the room was in a better state than upon check-in. Obviously no invoice for the random “cleaning fee” was provided to me neither any proof that the room was dirtier than when moving in.
