Patagonia Eco Domes

For what they are, the Eco Domes are fantastic. When we arrived in the afternoon and the rooms were warmed by sunlight I was totally impressed. The room is attractively decorated, the beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom was really impressive given that we were essentially in a highly structured tent. I really enjoyed our breakfasts and dinners there, as well as the packed lunches to go. The location is phenomenal and was just what we were looking for as we wanted to be as immersed as possible in Patagonia. The problem, and why I only gave it 3 stars, was the sleep quality. Once the winds start howling, which they will, the soft covers of the domes start flapping loudly and sometimes frighteningly. Even with earplugs it was disturbing. Our first night we opted for a fire in the stove which certainly warmed the room initially, but overwhelmed us with campfire smell which made it hard to breathe/sleep. We did not tend the fire at night because we wanted the campfire smell gone and of course were exceptionally cold once we got up in the morning (the beds were comfortable and warm). I hardly slept at all that first night. The next night we opted for no fire, which means we were even colder in the morning. As much as I wanted to love these Eco Domes, it was not a comfortable stay.

What a great place, deep in the mountains and away from everything. If you're looking to immerse fully in nature. This is the place to be. The rooms were spacious, clean, beautifully decorated. Food was amazing, fresh, and filling. The staff is friendly, helpful, and arevery knowledgeable about the area. It was cold when we went but the domes were well insulated and it was fun trying to set up the fireplace and watch the logs burn.

The eco-domes are in a beautiful setting at the foot of Mount Fitzroy. They are a little out of El Chaten and the location is very peaceful. We had a lovely stay with great food and would like to thank Frederick, Luna and Manu for their wonderful hospitality which made our stay even more special

A lovely getaway very remote, great hiking, incredible food. An added bonus was the transfer that was booked for us from the eco domes to the airport.

Great location, wonderful staff and cool experience. You will remember visiting this place, adds a nice touch to a Patagonia trip. So nice to do a am hike and relax in the afternoon with tea. They give a bagged lunch for hikes during the day. A++++ for service, food, location, and most of all staff. They are all truly wonderful!

We spent three nights here. If you are looking for a break from cities and Wi-Fi, and want to go on some walks this a great place to stay. The staff and in particular Pedro were very helpful and can advise you on walking trails in the area. They had arranged our transfers to and from the town at no extra cost too. The breakfast is continental but also some cooked options are given, they make you a lunch box for the day and every night there is a choice of three course meals with the menu changing each day so every day is a different offering. There is also a bar which is stocked so you can enjoy a drink in the communal area or in your dome. At night the fire in your room is lit when you are at dinner and you have logs to keep it going. You do need to add logs this up from time to time. The bed is very comfortable and it’s very quiet so you should get good nights sleep. The view of the mountain when you wake up is unique. I would recommend a stay here. If you prefer to have all the facilities of a normal hotel and internet this isn’t the place for you. But if you wish to spend quality time with the person or people you are with and go for walks etc it certainly is.
