We really enjoyed our stay at Chalten Camp during our honeymoon. The domes were so cosy and very comfortable. What an experience to wake up watching Fitz Roy in the morning light! A rare find as well, since almost no hotels in El Chalten have a view on Fitz Roy. Staff was very friendly, food was very nice, and we received lunch boxes to take with us on hikes or day activities. There is a lot of space outside of the domes to chill, wander around, and enjoy the unique view. You can also do a nice little hike starting from the hotel, going along the river and through the forest. The main dome was a nice and cosy place to hang around as well. We would definitely recommend Chalten Camp, but be aware that you are a 10-15 minute drive away from the centre of El Chalten where most hikes start. We booked a hostel in the centre for a few nights to hike, and finalized our El Chalten trip here with a slower pace, enjoying all the comfort and beauty Chalten Camp had to offer.

The location is truly fantastic, and the domes are beautiful! While communication, food (at times), and service could be improved, overall, it was good. It would be great if transportation were included in the rate, as getting there by foot isn’t practical unless you’re up for an hour-long walk each way.

Perfection. A truly unforgettable experience. The camp is perfectly located in nature for those seeking tranquility and a base for hiking and birdwatching. The staff are absolutely exceptional, in particular Paula, Valeria, Florencia and Javier, who made every effort to make our stay special. The rooms were very comfortable and cosy with wood burning stoves, extra duvets and pillows and incredible views of Fitzroy. I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough.

La ubicación es única, ver al Fitz Roy desde tu domo, contemplar infinitas estrellas por la noche. Total contacto con la naturaleza, un río a metros con espacios para descanso y contemplación, el silencio total y los sonidos del lugar. Los domos están en perfecto estado, se ocupan de todos los detalles, la calidez del personal hace que todo sea fantástico. Tanto el desayuno, como las viandas y la cena fueron excelentes, cada uno con sus detalles especiales, todo muy cuidado. Estuvimos 4 días, tres noches, volveremos sin duda.

Chalten Camp is on my short list of my favorite places I've ever stayed. I was absolutely in love with the main dome! It's my kind of aesthetic - sort of a laid back luxury with those amazing views. Since I was dealing with an injury and couldn't do much hiking I spent a lot of time in there just hanging out, reading and eating the delicious meals. The room was super cozy at night especially since the staff lights your fire and places a hot water bottle for you while you're at dinner! Speaking of the staff- everyone is incredibly kind and helpful and went out of their way to help us arrange transportation, find a. massage in town, get us extra things we needed from the kitchen, etc. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner (Nicholas, I think) on my last night there and he impressed me with his interest in our stay and helped me personally with my 3AM transport back to the airport. Everything was perfection!

La calidez que proporcionan es increíble. El entorno precioso. Mucha comodidad en el domo, y único desde la cama ver el Fitz Roy. Volvería siempre. Es un placer volver de hacer trekking y que te esperen con la salamandra encendida y tecito con bombones caseros. Experiencia inigualable.

Les notes et commentaires dythirambiques dont bénéficie Chalten Camp sont pour moi un mystère. J'aurais volontiers mis 5 etoiles si le tarif avait ete divise par 2 (et encore). Mais a 500 euros la nuit nous attendions une experience bien au dela de ce que nous avons vécu ! - Les points positifs : les domes sont de qualité, la literie est top, rentrer de diner et trouver un feu allumé dans le poele est super agreable, le personnel est au petits soins, les repas (dejeuner et diner) sont assez bons, la vue (qui est belle mais honnêtement depuis le village on voit tres bien le fitz roy aussi) - Les points negatifs : les petits déjeuners qui sont vraiment basiques, le spot est super éloigné de tout (si vous n'avez pas de voiture il faut prendre des taxis qui facturent une fortune pour se rendre au village et pour tous les sentiers de randonnée), l'absence d'activités (dans les estancias aux alentours on peut faire plein de choses, a chalten camp rien), et bien sur, le prix exorbitant. Sans parler du marketing qui vend une expérience de "pionniers", comme a l'époque "où l'argent ne comptait pas" (LOL) Bref si vous etes très très riches et voulez passer qques jours de farniente au milieu des arbres pourquoi pas, sinon passez votre chemin et offrez vous plutot une belle Estancia.
