Miramar Surfcamp

Great location, view, pool, dining, staff (above and beyond excellent). If you're coming here for a yoga, get in the water, have a beer at the pool you're set. Negatives: The rooms are pretty tight with beds leaving little room to walk around. Mostly quiet at night, and AC was cold so not that bad. Typical central america bedding and pillows. The surf spots they advertise are not accurate. There's still the "point" right out front, but it's not what it used to be after they built a large jetty harbor for the government. The jetty and other waves within walking distance are not good by any international standards. The only good wave in the region is boat access only, and only works on low tide. And when it's working for that small time period it's extremely crowded.

Such an amazing experience! Best waves, best people and the best food I’ve ever had! I can’t wait to come back next year. Truly a wonderful stay and I am so sad to leave this paradise of a surf camp. Yoga is tailored to help surfers mobility and I can say it helped so much!! They make everything so easy and fun, don’t pass up an opportunity to stay here especially if you are seeking good waves!

I had a fantastic trip at Miramar. The staff was incredibly friendly and very interactive, everyone made an effort to know my name and talk to me. The food was very impressive, I did the all-inclusive package and originally worried about not having enough to eat since I was going to be surfing all day. That was not a problem at all, the portions were huge and the quality was very good. The themed dinner nights like pizza night, bbq night made dinners so fun too. I liked the open seating too, I was able to talk to other travelers or the staff at every meal I ate. The resort is beautiful, it sits on a cliff overlooking one of the main breaks. After I would finish surfing for the day, I would have a beer on the patio and watch the sunset along the Nicaraguan coast. The waves were just what I wanted, a solid 3-6 ft depending on the day and varied. There were beach breaks, point breaks, river mouth breaks etc. I got some of the best waves of my life. The on-site photographer and yoga instructor were also amazing. They provided fun activities like daily yoga or surf picture slide shows. I went home with some of the best waves of my life and some of the best surfing photos of my life. I can’t wait to return!

Staff are great. Food is good. Room is clean. Beach is wonderful. Surfing instructor is the best. I dont really know how to swim but i was able to stand on the waves, great feeling. Drive to the airport is 2 hours which will be taken care of by the hotel. We went to the nearby church on Saturday by tuk-tuk, incredible experience!
