Hilton Garden Inn la Romana

We had an amazing 4-night stay at the Hilton Garden Inn La Romana! It’s a smaller hotel, but it has a beautiful pool that gives off resort vibes — so relaxing and inviting. We ate at the onsite restaurant for three dinners and two lunches. While the prices are on the higher side, the food was absolutely 5-star quality. Everything we tried was fantastic, and the restaurant itself is lovely, with a great atmosphere and a big, beautiful lobby bar. The hotel isn’t beachfront, so there’s no direct beach access, but they generously upgraded us to a premium ocean view room — and the view was unbeatable. Waking up to that every morning was incredible. The only downside for us was the drink pricing. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails were very expensive, making us wish at times we were at an all-inclusive resort. For example, two non-alcoholic piña coladas came to $27, which made it a little less enjoyable to just relax by the pool with drinks. We also booked an excursion to Isla Catalina through the hotel’s front desk. It was a great experience overall — we were picked up at 9:00 AM and brought to the boat dock nearby. Unfortunately, we ended up standing around for about an hour before the boat actually left. The snorkeling was beautiful (about 40 minutes in the water) and the BBQ on the island was delicious. On the way back, we arrived at the dock around 3:30 PM but didn’t get picked up until 4:35, which was another long wait. I think this could be easily improved with a little better coordination through the front desk. Overall, we had a great stay with our family and would definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxing getaway in La Romana.
