We just returned from a week at Nayara Springs, and our trip was spectacular! This resort goes the extra mile to ensure the happiness of their guests. From the incredible staff, to the fabulous food, and the beautiful grounds we certainly had a holiday to remember. The food was excellent; every morning we looked forward to enjoying a delicious breakfast in our Villa. We loved that the staff were as excited as we were to point out the various wildlife at the resort. We saw (and heard) howler monkeys, spider monkeys, toucans, peccary's, sloths, lizards, frogs...the list goes on. Be prepared to awaken early by the guttural sounds of a local howler monkey! Our Villa was beautiful and well-appointment. We had lovely snacks, fresh fruit and a stocked fridge with everything we needed. The evening turn-down service treats were also much enjoyed. We were fortunate to have excellent weather, with most days being mostly sunny with only a few hours of rain in the afternoons. Special shout-outs to the fantastic staff. Our golf cart drivers Jason, Axel, Danny B...and our server at the wine bar, Miguel. And to our private transport drivers, Gerardo and Alejandro who ensured our comfort both to and from the airport. Also thank you to personal host, Kianny. And to Steven, who made sure we were well looked after. A few things to note: The road to the resort from the airport is very hilly and windy. I was unprepared for this and got some motion sickness on the ride there. Our driver, however was so kind and patient and stopped as often as I needed to for some fresh air or a bathroom break. If you are prone to motion-sickness, take a Gravol or dramamine after your flight lands. I took one on the ride back to the airport and was fine. The plunge pool in your villa can get very hot. As someone who loves a hot tub, it was even too hot for me. If you let them know, they will adjust the flow of the hot spring which cools it down. During the off-season, the Italian restaurant was closed. We didn't miss it at all though, as there was an abundance of restaurants to choose from. Definitely try Amor Loco with the tasting menu! The spa was incredible; listening to the sounds of the rainforest while having a Swedish massage was fantastic. Definitely book a spa treatment (or two) as they don't compare to any other spas. And definitely spend a day at the hot springs; the water is therapeutic and very healing. Thank you again, Nayara Springs, for a wonderful and memorable week. Pura Vida!
