Sangregado Lodge

Our stay at Sangregado Lodge was blissful. The view from our bedroom villa 13 was mesmerizing. The concierges, Francisco, Luis, and Larry were great at suggesting nearby destinations to explore and quick to respond to our requests. Tip- Bring hiking shoes to explore safely

My girlfriend and I stayed in 3 different hotels during our late-May trip to Costa Rica, and Sangregado Lodge was our favorite. The room and the view was beautiful, and despite visiting during the rainy season, we were able to see the amazing view of the Arenal Volcano from our room on the last day. Completely stunning. We booked the Standard Room with 2 queen beds and the double-standing shower. We loved everything about it. Having 2 beds allowed my girlfriend and I to sleep well each night without disturbing each other, while still remaining close. The rooms are all in separate individual buildings and are built solid. Lots of privacy. Animals and birds come right up in front of the balcony. There are A LOT of bugs in the area because you are in the middle of the jungle, but the room is well-sealed from the outside so only a few small bugs were able to get in due to us going in and out of the unit. Everything else in the unit worked well, including the bathroom and the A/C. We had a problem with our room's door lock and I messed up the room's safe, but the staff came and fixed these right away. This was also the only Costa Rica hotel of ours where we were allowed to flush reasonable amounts of toilet paper, which was such a relief. The staff was kind, generous, and responsive. They answered all our questions both in person and via WhatsApp and gave lots of good advice. The breakfast is combined with the Lost Iguana hotel down the hill, which is a fantastic idea that allows them to have a bigger buffet breakfast with lots of options (including multiple protein options, which is rare). This breakfast was our favorite of the trip and the restaurant at Lost Iguana is a really beautiful place to start the day. We loved our stay at Sangregado Lodge. I highly recommend it.

This is a fabulous hotel. It is outside of town and each room has a glass front that offers a Volcano view. Rooms are spacious and include a mini bar. Note that you do have to drive about 3 minutes to the Lost Iguana Hotel for Breakfast but that was fine. The Mistico Hanging bridges are literally across the parking lot from the hotel. We booked a rappelling/canyoning excursion through the hotel that was great fun. Hotel staff very nice and helpful.

Wonderful Lodge with spacious, stylish and spotlessly clean houses and no less than spectacular views of the forest and the volcano. The pictures available online are no exaggeration. The dedicated and kind reception team will go above and beyond to make your stay pleasant, making bookings and providing tips. Located in a gated area on top of the hill above the Arenal lake - right next to Mistico Hanging Bridges Park which is an absolute must-do when in the area. Great breakfast in the neighbor hotel. Of note: a very moderately priced minibar stocked with many nice things.

This hotel is not near much, however we were leaving La Fortuna and headed back up towards Liberia and had plans to visit Mistico Park so we chose this hotel for its location. But the VIEW was everything! And the staff was extremely friendly. The shower was an experience. All glass windows with a view of the jungle and Arenal. The only complaint we had was the bed seemed to be broken. It could have happened recently but it made for an uncomfortable sleep for my husband. We told the front desk after we checked out and they said they would address it. I have no doubt they will. The included breakfast isn’t on site, fyi. It’s a bit down the road. We ate dinner there and breakfast the next day and both meals were just ok. But it was convenient and the staff was friendly.

Amazing stay, the view of Arenal volcano from the rooms is breathtaking.
