The room windows basically don't open, and there's no view. As a business hotel, it's alright for one person staying a night or two due to its location.

We originally booked a standard double room. The first room we were assigned wasn't facing the sun and had a very strong chemical smell! After just fifteen minutes inside, both of us felt a bit dizzy. Even opening the window and turning on the air conditioning didn't help. So, I explained that I was pregnant, and the hotel staff moved us to a sun-facing room. Although it still had a smell, it dissipated a lot after airing it out with the window open for a while. That evening, when we returned to the hotel, we found the air conditioner in the room was leaking, dripping onto our pillows and luggage. We went to coordinate with the hotel again, and they said there were no other rooms with the same orientation available that night, so we had no choice but to turn off the air conditioner and stay in that room for the night. We had originally booked for seven nights, but we checked out the very next day. We'd rather book a more expensive room last-minute because this hotel was just terrible! It wasn't just the room that smelled; the hallway also had a very strong odor, and the central air conditioning in the hallway was constantly dripping! Honestly, the quality of the room for this price was far too poor. The space was tiny, and the refrigerator and other facilities were old and outdated. A hotel with over two hundred rooms only had two washing machines, and we could never get a turn because of the constant queue! Moreover, the pervasive smell wasn't a normal odor; it was a chemical smell! If there's anything positive to mention, it's that the breakfast was quite abundant and good value for money. The landscaping and deodorizing in the hotel lobby on the first floor were also well done. Other than that, I wouldn't recommend anything else.

The room's cleanliness was impeccable, and the hotel's location is excellent. It's in a convenient area with great transportation links. The city isn't very big, so getting around is generally easy.

Every time I visit Kyoto, I stay here. The location is great, just a 5-minute walk from Karasuma Oike subway station, exit 3-1. There are many restaurants and cafes nearby. I'll definitely stay here again next time.

The location is fantastic! It's where Kyoto's two subway lines converge, offering a peaceful retreat while still being incredibly convenient for getting around. The hotel itself has a lovely Kyoto aesthetic – small but beautiful. When we arrived at 12 PM, I tried my luck asking the front desk if we could check in early, and they immediately processed it for us. Later, because our room faced a wall and we were staying for six days, I went to the front desk again to explain the situation before heading out. When we returned, we found the hotel's contact information tucked under our door. After going to the front desk, the hotel manager personally showed us new rooms. My mom and I were extremely pleased and swapped rooms that same day. Perhaps noticing my mother's age, they gave us an accessible room, which was significantly larger than a standard twin room and had a wonderful view. Many thanks again to the hotel for their excellent service! The restaurant for breakfast was never crowded, so we could usually snag a window seat with a great view. Enjoying a leisurely, substantial breakfast surrounded by greenery was incredibly pleasant. The matcha pastries and curry rice are specialties. It's just one subway stop or a 15-minute walk from the Imperial Palace, and during the Showa 100th anniversary event, the inner garden was free to access. Sanjo and Shijo are also within walking distance. We took a taxi to Kiyomizu-dera for about 2000 yen. For Kinkaku-ji, there's a direct bus right across the street. Kyoto Station is three subway stops away, and getting to the Limousine bus stop for both Osaka airports cost about 2000 yen by taxi.

Stayed with a friend, but we had separate rooms. The hygiene was pretty good, although they don't clean the rooms daily. You can, however, get fresh towels every day. It's within walking distance to some lively areas, but a bit of a trek to the nearest subway station.

I stayed at this hotel for four nights on my first trip to Japan. The facilities and services were all excellent, and the front desk staff were very welcoming and spoke English. I was on the second floor, and I could hear birds chirping when I opened the window – the air was fresh and the environment was quiet. It's about a 5-6 minute walk to Karasuma Oike, and there's a bus stop right outside, making transportation very convenient. Plus, it's a Marriott property, so overall it was a fantastic experience.
