Family Stay at Scandic Rukahovi – April 2025 We stayed at Scandic Rukahovi as a family of four in April 2025 and booked a Superior Family Room located on the hotel’s second floor. The room had a large double bed and a bunk bed for the kids, which worked very well for our family. The space had clearly been partially renovated – the main living and sleeping area felt fresh and modern, while the entryway and bathroom were older in style but still clean and fully functional. One of the best features was the spacious balcony with a beautiful direct view over Ruka Village and the ski slopes. The room was clean and tidy overall, though we did find a bag of used diapers left on the balcony by previous guests, which was an unfortunate oversight. One thing to note: the room was quite warm (around +25°C), and we couldn’t find a way to adjust the temperature ourselves. It didn’t ruin the stay, but a bit more ventilation or temperature control would have been appreciated. Staff were extremely friendly and professional, and the breakfast buffet was excellent – plenty of variety for both adults and kids. There was also a small playroom next to the breakfast area, which was a nice idea but quite modest in size and content. We didn’t use the shared sauna facilities, but it’s a good feature to have, and free parking underneath the hotel made logistics easy. Overall, this was a comfortable and family-friendly base for exploring Ruka, and we would happily stay again – hopefully with a slightly cooler room next time!
