Very nice place with the bathhouse operating all night. There are shuttle bus services to Yubatake and to the Bus Terminal when checking out. Just that they speak almost no English at all, so do consider that.

Good. There are indoor & outdoor onsen. Buffet dinner and breakfast. The room is big and clean with a nice mountain view. We enjoyed our stay here.

Excellent stay! Hotel may be old but the facilities are up to date and clean. Service from staff is also generally good. 7mins walk to Sainokaiwara Park via the short cut. It’s a 15mins walk from Yubatake and you’ll need to walk up a slope to get to the hotel, may be strenuous for those with luggages. There’s a shuttle bus to and fro hotel to Yubatake every hourly, refer to photo. There’s even a shuttle bus to Takasaki train station, so ask the staff for details. Breakfast in hotel is excellent and very homely, overall enjoyed my stay here and will recommend friends to come!

Good place

Location - about 10min walk from the bus terminal at Kusatsu station. Walkable unless it's snowy or froze on the ground as part of the path is quite steep to walk up. Not hard to find as the town is quite close to everything. About 15min walk to yubatake for the famous onsen for pictures and local food and snacks. You can walk to the Sainokawara Onsen(open air public onsen) for about 8min which is located just behind the hotel itself. Service - they do provide transport to and from Yubatake with a specific timetable. They also have an open luggage area at the main hall if you area before check-in you could just leave the luggage and explore the town. They also have separate gender onsen with both indoor and outdoor facilities. They came around 7pm to my room to offer to set up my sleeping mattress. The dinner time was 6.45pm to 8pm and they may vary between seasons. You will be located in a seat in the dining room so don't worry about the crowd and having to fight for your seat. It's buffet style food and I read previous comments about food being cold. They aren't cold as it was heated around 60c ish but the moment food leaves the Bain Marie it will become cold especially during winter. Alcohol is included but you need to be 18 years old. They will start closing some stations including soft serve around 7.30pm so do get there earlier. Cleanliness - just an older building and maintenance pretty ok. You could tell from the design it's a bit outdated but it wasn't dirty or messy. Amenities - they have a Japanese sleep/bath robe at the main hall for guests to take if you need. There's no wifi in the room unfortunately and the only free wifi provided by the hotel is just located down at the main hall. I was given a Japanese style room which is pretty standard. It was on the 7th floor so it came with a pretty good view.

The room facilities are old and simple, there is no hand soap, no shower shampoo, the bathtub is useless, there is only a very small piece of soap. The outdoor hot spring feels that it is not cleaned every day, there is a lot of floating moss. The only advantage is that there is a balcony, you can see the ski resort in the distance, the price is not expensive, including breakfast and dinner are buffet, there are many varieties.

Regarding the location of the hotel, there was a car shuttle from the Yubatake to the hotel, but this information was not received at the time of booking, and we walked there, which was a bit disappointing. The hotel's open-air bath was very good, and they also provided a car shuttle to the Yubatake and ski resort. Ski equipment can also be rented from the hotel, which is cheap and convenient. There is only one flight from the ski resort to the hotel in the afternoon, so it is convenient to have one every hour.

The room is big, with beautiful snow scenery and open-air hot spring outside the window, but it is a little far from the hot springs, and there are no convenience stores around. There is a shuttle bus to the bus terminal, but it did not leave on time on the day I took it...

The hot spring is dirty. Some of the large bath showers don't have hot water. The food is also terrible. It can't be said to be completely useless, the only wine is cheap. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

It's the best value for money. It's old because it was built a long time ago, but considering the price and location, it's not too inconvenient. The view outside the window is also the best.

It was surrounded by nature and the views were great. The hot spring was a large communal bath with an open-air bath. It was great! I was able to relax and heal my body.

Stayed for two nights during the Spring Festival. Advantages: The price is cheap. During the three consecutive holidays in Japan, other hotels in Kusatsu have increased their prices significantly. The price of this hotel is relatively reasonable. The view is great, the room faces Kusatsu Ski Resort and the view is very wide. There is an open-air hot spring. It snowed on the first night of our stay. It was great to soak in the hot spring in the snow while overlooking the ski resort. The hotel has many vending machines with many choices. There is a shuttle bus from the hotel to Yuda, which is relatively convenient. Heating is very adequate. The room is huge. You can walk from the hotel to Nishigawara Park and across Mount Tengu to the Kusatsu Ski Resort. There is a cabin opposite the hotel entrance where you can rent ski equipment at a very reasonable price. Disadvantages: The hotel is old, the hardware is definitely not as good as a new hotel, and the rooms are opened with keys. It's quite a distance from Yutian. Note: The front desk will give you a towel when you check in, remember to keep it after soaking in the hot spring. The check-in time written on the page is very short. In fact, you can check in after that time. The front desk gets off work around 9 pm. If meals are included, it is recommended not to be too late.
