Puijonsarvi is legendary - it had the coolest night club in town in the 1980's :) The hotel has an excellent location near Kuopio's main attractions and the breakfast buffet is maybe the best I've had at this hotel chain. Service is always friendly no matter how busy the house may be.

The first time I came to Kuopio, Finland, I chose this hotel. The overall experience was quite good! The hotel staff is warm, the infrastructure is complete and the experience is very good. The sauna is comfortable, the first time I have a free sauna in the hotel.

Upraded rooms with air-conditioning. The hotel is located in a building from the 70's and it seems they have done a partitial renovation. Some things seem older than others. All the basics work well, nothing special to mention. The hotel is located in a beautiful location by the lake Kallavesi, but the scenery is sadly totally lost, you really see it only from the staircase (or room, if it has lake-view). There is a terrace on the lake-side, but no service there. Hotel's pool was being renovated, so we couldn't try it. Breakfast was ok, I've had better breakfast in other Scandic hotels. Item labels were misplaced and many items (for example smoothie) had way too much sugar in them.

Break Sokos Hotel Tahko is a cosy holiday hotel in the center of the Tahko tourist area. The slopes -tracks -restaurants and all other services in the area are withing an easy walking distance from the hotel. Guests have access to a wide variety of winter and summer activities. The offering of the hotel includes the refurbished restaurant Hillside -Pizza Breikki and Mini Hesburger. After a day strenuous outdoor activities it is nice to relax in the lobby bar Warsteiner or in unique distillery Hophaus.
