"Booked this place last minute through Agoda and managed to get a really good rate, which was a nice surprise. I was attending a short work course at Mount Kinabalu National Park, so the location turned out to be very convenient since it’s within walking distance from the park entrance. The room itself was simple but comfortable enough after a long day of classes and activities. There’s also a small café nearby with reasonably priced food, which made things easy when I didn’t feel like driving out. Parking was not an issue either as there was ample space around the property. Overall I quite liked the place — quiet, practical, and good value for the price. Would consider staying here again if I come back for another course or visit to the park."

"One of the highlights of staying at J Residence was the breathtaking view from our balcony. Every morning, we woke up to mist-covered mountains and lush greenery. It was such a refreshing experience, unlike anything you’d get in the city. The room itself was cozy and clean, and the staff were very accommodating. Definitely a place worth visiting!"

"Not really the best, walls are thin you can literally hear your next door neighbor conversation, restaurant not operational and a little bit pricey for a resort that lacks activities. If it is just for a one day layoff, then it should be fine."

"Great place, not too far up Mesilau, very near to Bataras Supermarket. Clean place, helpful staffs. View of Mount Kinabalu is crystal clear. Parking is ample. BBQ is allowed. We stayed at the second floor, two queen size room. The only thing is upon checking out, the road coming out to town, traffic is quite heavy, other than that, all if well. "
