This ryokan onsen hotel feels new and clean overall; even without a shower tub in the room, I did not mind going to its nice public onsen for bathing. Dinner and Breakfast are both excellent. I used this hotel as a base to visit the incomparable Maruyama Senmaida and Doro-kyo Gorge / Kitayama, using a rented bike from Kumano Itaya Kurobe no sato, Michino-no-eki in Kiwacho Itaya. Hotel staff and Customer Service at this hotel are also the best, as evidenced by the free hotel shuttle back to Kumano or Shingu.
