2-Star Hotels in Kumano

This ryokan onsen hotel feels new and clean overall; even without a shower tub in the room, I did not mind going to its nice public onsen for bathing. Dinner and Breakfast are both excellent. I used this hotel as a base to visit the incomparable Maruyama Senmaida and Doro-kyo Gorge / Kitayama, using a rented bike from Kumano Itaya Kurobe no sato, Michino-no-eki in Kiwacho Itaya. Hotel staff and Customer Service at this hotel are also the best, as evidenced by the free hotel shuttle back to Kumano or Shingu. Without question, this is the best hotel out of the 18 I stayed at during my 5 week trip to Japan this Spring.

When I looked it up, there were 7 parking lots planned, and the No. 1 parking lot was the Onigajo No. 2 parking lot next to Nami. The venue is on the opposite side of Onigajo, so you have to drive through the Onigajo Tunnel or go through the Onigajo Pedestrian (Kimoto) Tunnel. The first time I went through a sidewalk (only for cars going east) tunnel, I walked 600 meters in about 10 minutes, a little over a kilometer depending on where I was to see. For the first time in a long time, I was able to enjoy the spectacular fireworks 🎆 at close range.

It seems that people who want to use the public bath and the hotel restaurant at the hotel ”Nami” of the same series, and people who want to go shopping and go out at ”Kawakami”. If you are looking for convenience, this is the place. It is about 5 minutes on foot from Kumanoshi Station, which is a limited express stop. Not enough to call a taxi.

The housing facilities and room cleanliness are good, and the service staff are also very good.
