Kumamoto Minami Ward 3-star Hotels

The price is very favorable for a hotel in the Kumamoto area with free parking. The room is on the small side and can barely accommodate 2 seats. Of course, I read the reviews before booking, so I definitely accept it. It only takes about 15 minutes from the hotel to Kumamoto Castle. If you are only staying for a short time, it is worth considering.

The counter staff is very friendly. Free drinks and snacks are provided in the lobby on the first floor from 15:00 to 23:00. The large bath is very spacious and clean, and bath towels are very convenient to get The pillows provided are really good for sleeping There is also a bathtub in the room The only downside is that there is no lotion provided and the men's razor needs to be purchased separately

Nothing can be complained for me. The staffs were very helpful. A little fancy instagramable breakfast. All attractions are near - Kumamoto Castle, Kumamon Square, Department & Convenient Stores, Walking street including restaurants. Room design makes kids having fun and a good time. All in all worth it.

The hotel is in a good location. It's very close to Domachisuji Station (trams and city buses), very close to Shopping Street (very close to Kamishatori Shopping Street), and close to Kumamoto Castle. The room is quite new. I will stay here again next time.

The bed was extremely comfortable, guaranteeing a restful night's sleep. The bathroom was pristine, with high-quality toiletries provided. The hotel's location was convenient, offering easy access to local attractions and transportation. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable, and outstanding place to stay, this is it. I will definitely be returning on my next visit!

Hotel is located in the shopping street. It is very convenient. However. There is limited car park space.

The location, staff and breakfast were very good. I was worried about the smell of the bathroom and the lack of cleanliness of the room.

Good if you like old school charm hotel, room and service. Castle view room was a disappointment - have to stand at the side of the window to actually see the castle :( Location was great and parking was onsite. There’s a driveway at the front of the hotel and from there, the staff guided us to their onsite parking. It’s as advertised JPY1000 per day but on day of checkout, parking is until 11.30am. After that, cheaper to park elsewhere (JPY100 for 15mins vs JPY200 for 2hrs at Kumamoto Castle).

Hotel Nikko truly lives up to its reputation as a standard-bearer for Japanese hospitality – with impeccable five-star facilities and service. The hotel is located in Torichosuji, about a 10-minute walk from Sakuramachi Bus Terminal. It’s directly opposite Tsuruya Department Store, and a bustling shopping street with several pharmacies and numerous dining options is right next door. I especially recommend checking out Sakuramachi Sakura Mall for some serious retail therapy! 😂 Personally, I found staying near Kumamoto Bus Terminal much more convenient. Buses offer extensive and affordable coverage to most destinations. Kumamoto’s JR train services aren't very frequent, and while they might save a little time, transfers can be cumbersome and much more expensive. The room was very spacious. Our triple room had two large beds pushed together, which was perfectly sufficient for sleeping. It also featured a capsule coffee machine and complimentary La Mer toiletries – a truly luxurious touch! The lobby is bright and spacious, making every entrance and exit a pleasant experience. The senior lobby manager, with his remarkably sharp gaze, reminded me of the 'Grand Maison Tokyo' drama, exuding an air of sophisticated, old-money elegance that was subtly impressive!🤣 Overall, I was thoroughly satisfied with Hotel Nikko Kumamoto. A perfect score, highly recommended!
