Shangarh Kothi

visited Shangarg Kothi, a small and beautiful homestay in Shangarh, Sainj Valley. This was my second visit to Shangarh. I had come earlier in 2021 when it was a very peaceful village surrounded by nature. But this time, I was surprised to see many new hotels and homestays being built everywhere. The natural beauty is still there, but the peaceful village feel was missing. We stayed for just two days. The view from the homestay is nice, but construction work on both sides of the building was disturbing. We had come for peace and rest, so the noise was a bit disappointing. Hopefully, the construction will be finished by next season. The food was simple but very tasty. Lucky and Hema, who manage the kitchen, did their best to make us happy and served us with warmth. The place is run well by Vikas and Shuchi, who are good hosts. Overall, our experience was good, just wished for a little more quiet.

Shangarh Kothi has such a cozy, vintage feel—I loved every bit of it! The food was super tasty, healthy, and felt just like a comforting home-cooked meal. The hosts were really warm and welcoming, and those three cute puppies totally stole my heart. It’s the perfect chill spot if you’re looking to relax and recharge. Highly recommend!

Perfect location for those who like solitude and peace… healthy and tasty food, Warm and welcoming people, comfortable stays that are reasonably priced… what more can one ask for?? It’s perfect! If you’re coming to Shangarh and you’re someone who enjoys nature and solitude, it cannot get any better than this!

If you're looking for a place to recharge your soul amidst serene nature and escape the city noise, Shangarh Kothi is an absolute gem! Nestled in the heart of the Himalayas, this place offers a pure nature treat with incredible hosts Sucheta and Vikas, who make you feel right at home. We fell in love with the delicious vegetarian food, including their amazing local delicacies, which added a special touch to our stay. The cozy accommodations with breathtaking views from the rooms were perfect for unwinding. The common areas were warm and inviting, making it ideal for family time. Nature enthusiasts will love the scenic treks in the area. It's also a fantastic spot for family-friendly trekking adventures—my daughter had a wonderful time exploring the trails. We were fortunate to experience snowfall during our visit, which truly was the cherry on top! If you want to experience an authentic Himalayan village and create lifetime memories, Shangarh Kothi is a must-visit. Really great property in the serene side of Shangarh. Good for relaxed getaway. Views are blissful. The hosts are great and take care of all needs. Inhouse Cafe food is tasty and has many veg options. Spent my days sitting in the beautiful open environment of the Shangarh kothi. A lot of trekking options are also available nearby.
