Honestly, aside from the location and the fact that this was a high-end residence building, everything else about this place is horrible and nothing left to be desired.
Horrible stuff:
1. Unprofessional and untrained foreign workers staff. They speak little English, and during check-out, it’s a few folks sitting on the floor collecting keys like a street market. It’s a bizarre sight.
2. The blanket and beddings on the king bed is a super thin, cheap materials and washed out blanket (and bedding sheets).
3. No amenities except two disposable toothbrushes. There is no shampoo, no face towels and not even a floor mat or towels for the bathroom. There is a giant bottle of $3 communal body shower that is put on the floor of the shower room. This is shockingly unhygienic, almost a nightmare especially for family traveling with kids. I don’t need anything fancy or an elaborate amenities, but this fail to meet the bare standard of being hygienic and meeting basic needs.
4. The water in the bathroom leak all the way to the bed (which is next to it) and to make things worse, there is no floor mat or floor towels to wipe off the water. We had to sacrifice one of the two towels provided to wipe the floor otherwise risk slipping and fall because of the marble floors.
5. They have a fancy looking kitchen and provides plates and bowls, but not a single fork, spoon or even teaspoon. They provide 2 bags of sugars for your coffee or tea, but you need to bring your own coffee or tea. At this point, I doubt the water kettle is even clean to use.
6. In hindsight, you just need to see the condition of the check-in office to know what’s about to come for the upkeeping and service of the room. The check-in office is in one of the room on the 25th floor. It’s got a horrible musky odor and the kitchen in the office is extremely dirty and messy.
7. You need to bribe the check-in staff on duty for higher floors. When we asked if it’s possible to give us higher floors, he asked me to give him MYR40 for him to accommodate this request.
8. Please never take off your shoes in this room. The floor is never mopped, and they don’t provide slippers. Especially if you have kids, NEVER let them crawl on the floor. It’s disgustingly dirty and unhygienic.
Good stuff:
1. The building is next to KLCC. You can’t beat the convenience and the view from it.
2. It’s a nice building, residence built by the same group that build the W Hotel. Unfortunately, this is not a real hotel or managed by a properly trained service provider. It’s a business who sub-leased the units from homeowners who bought these residences and rent it out as a hotel. It’s fine except if you’re looking for a properly managed and maintained accommodation, good luck with that. There is zero house-keeping services and maintenances. All you get is an accommodation room with almost ZERO amenities/services. It comes with 2 overly-used thin towels and 2 disposable tooth brushes and two packs of sugars. Cheers!
Conclusion:
1. It’s a horrible hotel packaged in a nice building. Stay away unless you absolutely have no other choices for this price range.
2. Lesson learned for me. You get what you paid for. The price was too good to be true compared to what you get around this area. I felt something was off but wanted to still give it a try, and this will be the last time I ever stay with these guys again.
3. Nasty place and staff - STAY AWAY, especially if you are traveling with your loved ones.
