Tequila Sunrise is good! Be sure to check the hot water service before you go to bed, was disappointed to wake up early and found out there’s no hot water to take a bath with. The villa is up to the mountain not really close to Addo. Breakfast was ok, the safari experience cost a lot for a full day, was ok but you can’t really see a lot of different animals, a lot of zebras though.

Arrived late Saturday afternoon. Stayed in room 31. No hot water the evening and also no hot water the following morning. Reported it to management, was promised that it will get sorted out and they are aware of the problem but no confirmation what was the issue and why it was not mentioned the previous day. Showered at 5pm an still no hot water Very little entertainment for smaller kits unless they want to swim in the cold pool. The chimney smoke in the lounge and bar was so unbearable, you could not even sit there to enjoy the evening.

Zuurberg Mountain Village holds a special place in my Family's memory, and my Parents used to visit regularly back in the 1970's & 1980's. This Trip was a special celebration for my Dad's 90th Birthday, and I know that our Stay brought back memories of some wonderful times. From the moment that you drive up the Zuurberg Pass to the Mountain Village, you cannot help but be taken aback at the beauty of the area, and the Hotel and Rooms are wonderful and nostalgic. We have always received a warm welcome from everyone at the Hotel, and they almost make you feel like Family! Being the start of Winter, the old Log Fires were very welcome, and the Lounges and Bar are all very cosy. The Food was exceptional, with a Set Menu consisting of several courses, one of which was some of the best Moulle that I've ever tasted. The Sweet Trolley has to be seen to be believed! Breakfast the next morning was delicious, and set us up for the day. All in all, our Stay at Zuurburg Mountain Village was wonderful. We'll most definitely be back!

A few months ago I found Zuurberg Vilage while riding my motorcycle. I made the trip out with my family all the way from PE for lunch. Utterly Disappointed! The location, hotel and feel of Zuurberg is special however the Hospitality and food was a disaster. It started off great with a good waiter upselling scones to my wife that was having tea, THAT MADE HER DAY! Scones was great with soft salted butter. The waiter were good, friendly and efficient. We ordered luch, something simple, Steak & Chips and a Creamy garlic mussel starter. Both dishes were horrible, the protein was old, undercooked and under seasoned. This was the worst meal we have experienced ever. I mentioned the food to the waiter and noticed him talking to management, they made no effort to speak to us and still charged the food on our bill. The owner of Zuurberg was also present and sat at the table next to us. He was unfriendly and watched videos on his phone at full volume. This was really off putting. When we left we spoke to management, she mentioned that the owner was there and she will call him. Well, he really didnt want to deal with us and didnt even get up from his chair. The manager was clearly not experienced to deal with these kind of situations. My wife and I have 25 year experience in the hospitality industry, we were calm and respectful as we have dealt with these situations before. This was the first time in our lives that we refused to pay for. This type of hospitality makes me angry and it gives our industry a bad name.

If you like a bit of real Africa feeling outside one of the expensive game resorts, this is the place to go. Take a nice drive up the hill on a well maintained gravel road through lush bushes and trees. Housing is just great, main house with 2 bars and restaurants wonderful, plus a small pool to cool down - maybe after a little hike behind the premises or a longer one in the nearby Addo section (safe to walk in that one)

Truly memorable experience. Comfortable, spacious rooms and expansive guest areas. Staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast buffet was amazing and the evening carvery equally so. We really had the most fantastic time and would highly recommend to anyone wanting an African lodge experience at a fairly reasonable price. The unadopted 19km approach road was well worth negotiating.

Really is a place away from Technology. Far in the mountains and very secluded. Was a Blast of a drive getting there. You just go up and up and up that was very cool. The place is chilled and the staff are Helpful and ever so friendly. Loved the Labrador at breakfast time Just following Grannies hand as she was eating.

What an amazing weekend, the food was excellent, service from staff brilliant and such a stunning venue. Old school Country Hotel vibe, lovely people and beautiful rooms. We had a very relaxing time, spent the first day at Addo Elephant Park, then the next day relaxing at the pool. The lunch menu at the pool was a very good Ploughmans Platter which we shared. Dinner on Friday and Saturday nights were buffet style, with such a range to of choice. Fantastic!!
