Mara Simba Lodge

This is our 2nd trip with family to Maea Simba and thouroughly enjoyed it. Very nice Hotel and very supportive staff... Cheff Cecillia Magara offered very delicious and mouth watering food - Indian and other dishes as well.. Cheff Cecillia realy deserves appreciation for taking good care of the guests and offering nice food of their choice..

Great lodge...our 1st stop out of Nairobi on our 7day (out of 3.5 weeks in Africa) safari tour arranged by Flying DoveTours. The lodge was very comfortable with good food friendly services and L,D and breakfast included. Rooms were comfortable and cozy as your in the famous Masai Mara game Reserve. Our guide was determined to show us the Big 5..and he did not disappoint. It's an early rise and shine to get out to the savannahs for game spotting and be prepared for bumpy roads.. You must experience a safari at least once in your life and we can recommend Mara Simba Lodge anytime along with Flying Dove Tours opps from Mombasa.

Mara Simba is located so close to the Masai Mara Reserve and that makes it so convenient for all the game drives. Plus the hotel has a beautiful rustic ambience and you literally have animals all around. We could see elephants from our window across the river and that was the best morning view! They also gave us a good picnic basket for our afternoon game drives. Also great staff, good food and a special shoutout to Mark for taking such good care of us.

Location is fantastic, rooms are spacious and very clean, food is very fresh and e no enough variety, staff at Samburu Simba Lodge led by Kazungu are professional and welcoming . Staff at Mara Simba led by Mr. Koileken and Mr. Sitara were great, very professional, helpful and welcoming. We could see crocodiles and hippos at the Talek river from our dinning and bar every day

A quaint cosy lodge nestled in the midst of Masai Mara. We were greeted warmly by the friendly staff. They all spoke good English. We were attended to by Mr. Manoah at the dining area who had us sit by the table facing the river, the view , a different hue of colours as the day passed. The food was delicious and there was a surprising number of Indian dishes , vegetarian, at that to cater for the Indians- the food was absolutely delicious ! The local dishes were good too. The masala tea, was my favorite! I picked up some souvenirs from the gift shop which were reasonably priced. The sunrise here is amazing! At night, we’re were escorted back to our rooms by the staff. The staff were always friendly & courteous. A special thank you to Mr. Manoah, staff at the reception, the Cook, and all the staff at the restaurant & bar!

This was the second time I have been at Mara Simba (we were there 13 years ago). While it was nice enough, it wasn't nearly as nice as other places we stayed in Kenya. I'm not sure that I would stay there again. We paid to upgrade to a tent for that safari feeling, but then what we got was no hot water (why?!??!) and a steady sewer water smell in and around our tent. These were the two things that bothered me, but the rest of the experience was fine. The food was good and the staff were very friendly. We appreciated the roaring fire and music in the bar in the evenings. There were very few guests there, because it was off-season, but there was still a good variety on the buffet. The beds were comfortable and cozy. We appreciated the constant wifi signal this time around. And, as I mentioned, the staff were so friendly. We loved watching the hippos and crocs from our table at breakfast each morning. I appreciated the souvenir shops on site where we weren't hassled to buy things.
