Alila Kothaifaru Maldives

The hotel has very good food options and all are very well made. The staffs are very attentive and friendly, always coming to chat with us and giving advice on activities and history of Maldives. I’m The hotel offers good variety of water sports so that we won’t get bored. The sand is fine on the beach and the water quality is very suitable for snorkelling. We can easily find lots of fish by swimming a hundred meters from the shore. We tried SPAs, table tennis, snooker, gym facilities. We joined scuba diving, fishing and they were all very well organised. The only shortfall is the pest problem. Lots of mosquitoes caused serious problems at the beginning. The staff should have warned guests seriously about this so that we can get prepared (closing doors and apply repellant) otherwise you will get really bad bites by various bugs. We stayed at beach villa and every night it’s like a battle of all kinds of bugs - gigantic cockroaches, snails, worms, caterpillars, flies, lizards, spiders, red ants and sand bugs. I even found one flying ant in bed one night. This really ******* me during the entire trip.

It was my first trip to Maldives & i picked Alila, love both the room interior and exterior. Food was surprisingly good 😍 Me and my bf enjoyed alot here!

My husband and I spent 5 nights at the Alila Kothaifaru celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary. As soon as we landed in Male, we were greeted by Alila staff who made our transfer by seaplane to the resort seamless. Upon landing at the resort, the Alila resort staff welcomed us with bright smiles, kind words, and top tier service. We stayed our 5 nights in an overwater sunset villa, and opted to pay for the full all-inclusive package, which we got more than our moneys worth out of. The room blew us away with its comfort, style, and amenities. Our room was made up twice each day, with our all-inclusive beer and wine restocked each time. We loved the private pool, ocean-view shower, and private access to the ocean for snorkeling. We unfortunately did not get to see a sunset (rainy season- we knew this when booking), but were no less impressed by our view. With the all inclusive food and beverage package, we were able to dine for 3 meals a day at the various available restaurants. The breakfast at Seasalt was my husband’s favorite, as they offered a variety of made to order menu options as well as a buffet of Asian and western favorites. The dinner at Umami was a favorite of mine, with three courses (app, entree and dessert) included in the AI package. The servers were accommodating when we only wanted to order sushi, and allowed us to substitute our entree and dessert for other sushi options for a lighter meal choice. All of our meals were excellent, with large portion sizes and rich flavors. The AI package also included drinks at all resort restaurants, and the bartenders did not disappoint. While the lodging and the food/drinks were great, what made this resort exceptional for us was the service. We were greeted by name everywhere we went, with staff who remembered our preferences for food, drink, and music each day. The staff went above and beyond to make our vacation relaxing, and accommodated us at every turn. Arya at Yakitori bar made us feel welcomed and special, and even sent us home with a hand carved souvenir. Sami at Umami went above and beyond with an anniversary dessert for us on our first night. Charith and our other bartenders, (we love you- Sorry I forgot to write down your names!) and the DJ at Mirus bar mastered our perfect espresso martini, entertained our endless conversation and questions, and kept the drinks and music flowing all trip. Vinna and Zachary at Seasalt had the brightest energy and never let our water glasses go empty. Azim, our Villa Host, was extremely communicative and kept our schedule organized. While these are just a few of the amazing staff we got to meet, every member of their team contributed to a once-in-a-lifetime trip for us. We will never stop recommending a stay at Alina Kothaifaru!
