Shenton Jaya hotel is nearby to most of the places that you will want to visit in Kota Kinabalu. There are many good eateries around, and you find that you really don’t have that much stomach for everything. Highly recommended for travellers who just want to explore KK for the first time!

The hotel is spacious, well-equipped and strategically located on Gaya Street. Xinji Bak Kut Teh is downstairs, and next to it is a street of morning and night markets. There are convenience stores and supermarkets around, and it is a five-minute walk to Dawn Plaza.
As for the noise mentioned by other reviews, it is inevitable for this location. It is within my acceptable range. I slept well for three nights. I experienced the airport drop-off service and was very satisfied!

Room: The family room is quite big, and the bathroom is spacious, but the water temperature is unstable, sometimes hot and sometimes cold, and it is difficult to adjust to the right temperature. We spent two nights at the hotel. The location of the hotel is very good: within walking distance from Gaya market, from the pier from where you can go to the islands, from shopping centers. I really liked the hotel. They gave me a lot of towels, all snow-white. The mattresses are excellent, I slept like never before. The only negative is that there is no door in the shower, but this is the pain of many Asian hotels.
