Silver Bay Hotel

I had a terrible experience here at the hotel. I get to the hotel and it says it's 'closed' but there's only 5 other rooms out of 40-50?. So there's no bar, or food service at all. I had to be driven to their partner hotel 1km out to get breakfast which was included in my package and that was average at best. Then had to wait another half an hour after breakfast to be picked up (even if it was a 3 minute drive back) and the driver saw us and decided to go somewhere else into the hotel? In the room I had, the telephone didn't work so I had to come up and down to ask for basic things. In the morning, my power was cut off because they were having issues with the power. Another guest said that their power and water was cut off the day before and I was given no notice or information about this. In general, the exterior could've been maintained better and the pool was filthy and not maintained. They said they were opening the day after I left but by the looks of it, nothing was prepared for this in the first place! I don't understand why they would be accepting guests when they are 'closed'! I was told by another guest who spoke Greek that apparently on the system they have, they can't see the guests and all unless they have over 25 bookings?! I do believe if they were open it would've been a different experience. However this really impacted my trip and first impressions. Luckily I was only there for a night compared to other people who were there for a few days and had to suffer here. I don't expect it to look exactly like the pictures however, I did expect to have all the facilities that was included! In the photos you can see what I was supposed to receive e.g. bar and food but the food area was closed off! Nothing was communicated in advance properly. Very disappointed with this and if they sort themselves out, I think this would've been a better experience.

Worst experience ever. I was placed for the first two nights in a 1m x 2m2 room, without air conditioning, with the toilet bowl filled with excrement, the shower filled with hair. Even though I had booked a large room. the hotel in general was incredibly dirty.

We were presented with an old and dirty room, the pool and outside area were decent, but clearly are being used to increase the price of a property that has been left to fall apart. The rooms are consistently not attended to, there is dust, rust on the taps, the doors are dirty and have clearly not been changed or painted in a long while, even the are curtains not properly placed on the rails. A picture of complete abandonment. Completely different to what is being showed and definitely not worth the per night price. The only silver lining was the great receptionist who did whatever was within his powers to get us the best room he could so we could have a decent stay. A good guy left to deal with the results of a terrible business model. Do not recommend!

An experience of ups and downs. Overall I'd rate the experienfe a 6/10, as ut did take some time to get used to hownthis hotel is run and acclimitise to lack of services on offer. I'll split my ratings into 3 categories: Service, Comfort and amenities. Service - I'd give this a 6/10 as the staff at the hotel did a good job to make themselves a available. First night was almost a disaster as we weren't talked through how to control the ac unit of the room and it led to time being wasted, in a hot sticky room. Once that was resolved, staff were usually quite attentive and the hotel manager was helpful with providing advice on how to get across corfu. Comfort - I'd give this a 5/10. Overall, the rooms were clean and our rooms were cleaned every day. However, the biggest let down was the fact that my room had bugs and i was getting bug bites. This was hugely disappointing and made the first few nights disappointing. Hotel lounge was clean, as well as the pool side. Me and my family when we were at the hotel, spent alot.of time by the pool side sunbathing, which was a pleasant experience. Its quite peaceful also alot of the time, as it wasnt busy at the time we stayed. Amenities - I'd give this a 4/10. There were some stuff which were said to be available upon arrival but just werent provided. An example being an ironing service. This was unavailable and it resuled in me having to buy an iron which disappointed me. Also you didn't have a dinner menu, you ordered the food from a third party restaurant.
