Stayed here for 10 days in October. When arrived in the early hours told had an upgrade. However when we woke up our so called sea view was virtually non existent. The private loungers were always in the shade and it was not a private pool which was what was implied. We complained and were told place full and to come back next day so never unpacked. Then we moved to the infamous room next to a la carte restaurant with view of brick wall. Stayed there one night until eventually were able to move again. So first 4 nights we never properly unpacked. So this was a bit of a damper to the start of the holiday but speaking to other guests seems to be a common issue. Most of the staff here were brilliant. Cannot fault cleaners, bar staff or the waiters/waitresses in the restaurant. Some of the other senior staff did seem to have their favourite guests. Hotel very clean and choice of food ample. Location on beach front is lovely. Entertainment very low key but that suited us. Surrounding area very quiet. Bus outside hotel goes straight to chania which was ideal. Not expensive.

It's been a long time since we have holidayed abroad so we had quite a lot of hopes for this one and it didn't let us down at all. Despite arriving at midnight when everything had closed down we received a warm welcome, check in was very quick and we were shown to our room. We had upgraded to a one bedroom suite and this gave us ample space to chill out. Initially a little disappointed in the dark with one of the balconies looking out onto the road but it wasn't noisy and in the daylight the other balcony overlooked one of the pools and we could even see the sea nicely. The staff are all super friendly and Zoe is really great at finding you a good table and keeping everything in order in the restaurant. We ate in the al a carte restaurant twice and the food was amazing with the chefs preparing the food in the mini kitchen upstairs so you could see everything that was going on. Matteo was super attentive and waited on all the tables single handed which was very impressive. The bar staff were always happy to help with drink's choices and a chat about your day. We had an amazing 7 night's stay here and would definitely recommend it.

We arrived in the afternoon and received a warm welcome at reception. The receptionist offered to look after our cases and for us to go straight into the dining room to have our dinner and a drink. After we returned we were informed that we’d been upgraded (seems to be a pattern of this) We were told that we’d now be staying in a double room with a private pool for the adjoining rooms and ourselves to share. We stated that we’d already upgraded on the TUI site to the seafront room, for £56, but we were told that this was impossible and they’d take us to the room. Whilst in the room and feeling very unhappy we found the invoice of our upgrade and returned back to reception. We were encouraged to relax and have a drink and they’d look into our upgrade. Eventually taken to the seafront room. Our first impression of the room was it looked amazing. When you stay there for a week and look closer there were a few faults. You can’t use the bathroom mirror due to steam after having a shower. The air con was extremely dusty and the balcony windows weren’t cleaned. The cleaners each day change your towels and make the beds. They also empty the soiled toilet tissue bin, but they only mopped the floor once. I am allergic to many foods including nuts. There aren’t any allergy warnings for the food served. The food is hit and miss. Luckily we’d brought snacks with us to eat. The staff work very hard in the dining room and ensure you have everything you need. We were unlucky with the weather as it was extremely windy and cold in the mornings and of an evening. The pools were freezing and aren’t heated, so we couldn’t swim. None of the rooms at the front (garden view) or the seafront rooms get any sun during the day, so people who have their own reserved sun beds on their rooms terrace, take the other sun beds on the sunny side. We managed to get sun beds by the pool or beach each day, but I’d imaging this would cause a problem during high season. The evening entertainment wasn’t great tbh. There was a violinist, a saxophone player another night and a DJ. Luckily we met some great people staying there, so we all made the best of it. The hotel is very remote with only a few souvenir shops, a supermarket and a couple of bars that serve food, but a lot were closed due to the end of season. If you enjoy more to do whilst on holiday, this location is very quiet and wouldn’t be for you. We wouldn’t return back to the hotel s we’ve stayed in better hotels and locations.

Loverly quiet hotel, where the staff are very friendly and go beyond what some hotels do to make sure that your stay is all that you want it to be. If you need to know anything or anywhere to go just speak to the amazing Anna on reception she will do all she can to help you. The same with the wonderful Zoe guest relations manger she knows some other loverly beaches when it gets too windy which is not often. The rest of the team are just as good and if you like a good laugh then Mateo is your man as long as you don’t mention Football to him as you won’t hear the end of how good Liverpool are !. Hopefully we will see you all next year along with Anastasia and the rest of the team. Missing the hotel and the location already and we have only just got back.

We booked this adults hotels because we wanted a complete break and I have to say it's the most relaxing hotel we've ever stayed in. We booked a junior suite (311) which meant that we had sunbeds directly outside the door and a private shared pool (Far too cold) The thought of not chasing after a sunbed and waking up to a view of the sea from your own bed is marvellous. Food and drink were great and the whole team from Reception, Pool Staff, Bar, Restaurant, Maid Service, was exceptional. Here's a tip...We booked the Tasting Tour with the hotel that takes you out on a mini basis to a n umber of different places. I won't spoil the fun. Suffice to say, it was the best 40 Euros per person we've ever spent on a holiday trip. Thanks to everyone at the hotel. We're already planning our next trip next October. Hoping to get 311 again...Please!

We were disappointed by our 3-day stay at this hotel. Although the hotel claims to be all-inclusive, a lot is extra, unless you have gone "premium all-inclusive. So the pina coladas are included in the "all inclusive" but the non-alcoholic version you have to pay for. Similarly the bar remains open after 11p.m. but you have to pay for drinks after then. Many of the sunloungers round the pool are reserved for specific (premium) rooms and all the other sunloungers round the pool had been bagged by 8 am. Even the beach sunloungers could only be reserved for guests staying a minimum of 4 nights. The view is barren and the beach is stony. Whoever is in charge of catering needs to up their game. We got to know the salads well. They would be out on the serving tables for 3 hours, and would then reappear at the next meal: the feta, the tuna and the sauces especially. There was some, but not that much, fish. All the "hot" food was lukewarm and even after a couple of days we found the food same-y. Tinned fruit was served. The hotel needs more investment. The main hotel WCs, for instance (which you accessed by walking past the servery for the "hot" food) had a door on the gents which did not lock, a broken urinal and a light which went out after 15 seconds - so you needed to be quick! The wifi speed was intermittent. Streaming a film could be hard work. And our room was a litany of small things that a decent hotel would have noticed and fixed: the bathroom door was warped and could not close. The bathroom (other than over the sink) was dimly lit, the shower was weak, and with an inadequate shower screen. The bedroom reading light was too dim to read by, the patio door let in water, and Reception wanted to charge us extra to be able to use the safe deposit box in our room. You can see that the hotel used to be 5* but it has had its fifth star taken away. Apart from that, the hotel was OK, and the waitresses were kind, cheerful and helpful.

My husband and I have just returned from 10 days at Grand Bay hotel. We loved the view, the room, the food but the wonderful staff were just incredible. Every one of them was friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Everyone smiles all the time. I would like to particularly thank: Andreas - a fantastic bartender who gave great service and always asked how we were. Ana - who greeted us on arrival and made us feel so welcome. Always on hand to help. Zoe - who was always there at mealtimes to keep everything running smoothly. She went above and beyond with our food queries. Sarantos - always there to greet us with a cheery “kaliméra.” We have stayed in many hotels all over the world but found Grand Bay an exceptionally wonderful one. We can’t wait to go back and are planning to return next September.

We have had a great time. It was quieter location wise than we expected. Staff were amazing we booked a standard swim up room and when arrived had been up graded to a junior suite only problem we got no sun all day , so did not use the sun beds or pool. So we went round to the main area.Everyday despite having a sign saying you could not reserve sun beds this happened everyday. We only got a sunbed by the pool once in 10 days. A friend with a sea view people said were putting towels out at 00:30 to 06:00 and some were not turning up till lunch time. To me a hotel with limited sun beds should not be allowing this . When I mentioned this I was told they had tried to stop it but could not 😡 a poor excuse in my eyes if bums aren’t on seats by 10am they should be stepping in and taking peoples stuff away . We stayed in a hotel that if by 8 am people were not with their belongings they took them away and they had to pay 2 euro to get it back 😂 this worked. But may u say apart from this gripe we enjoyed our time here . Friendly staff and a relaxing atmosphere and they went above and beyond for my birthday the a le cart restaurant was great.
