Unfortunately, the KBB was a rather disappointing accommodation. The resort itself was actually quite nice. It was a bit dated, but we know that things age faster in this part of the world because the heat and humidity are a decisive factor. The food was also good, or rather, the Indian food was very good. Breakfast, on the other hand, was rather sparse, with some fruit and toast, along with jam and veggie pie. But that wasn't the problem at all. It started with our arrival, where we were put in a rather "disappointing" room. We had been promised a view of the beautiful garden and pool. What we got was a view of some bushes and the road, plus construction noise. We asked to be relocated after discovering that it wasn't the category we had booked. This proved difficult because they tried to convince us that it was the one we had booked. Only thanks to the intervention of our tour operator did we get our booked room almost an hour later. Later, it turned out that we had even been downgraded. But that wasn't all: the constant lack of communication, coupled with ignorance and a lack of commitment, was truly annoying. For example, we were told the bus would leave at x, while other guests would leave at y. Or the meeting point was miscommunicated. This constantly led to delays. They also didn't think it necessary to inform us about changes to the program. It wasn't just us. Several guests had the same impression, some of them genuinely annoyed by the level of incompetence. For us, it culminated in our final bill, where we were charged for a cancellation of an excursion we hadn't booked. We had been informed of this beforehand, but we only accepted it on the condition that we could speak to the manager beforehand. In the end, the cancellation fee was simply disguised as a restaurant booking. In any case, we didn't see the manager, and this significantly spoiled our stay at the hotel, despite the generally friendly staff.
