It was in a good location, close to the market and the sea.
This time I visited for the Mask Festival, and it was about a 30 minute walk or 10 minutes by car from the inn to the venue.
The staff at the reception were kind and friendly, but considering the rural location, the cleanliness was not worth the price.
Also, I don't know why, but for some reason I was getting double billed, which was a bit of a problem. However, I'm glad that I was able to get through it without any problems thanks to the help from Trip.com's support center.

Chambres vieillotes et pas très propres. Vieille clim. Plein centre. Ne pas prendre une chambre qui donne sur l'avenue principale =＞ bruyant en journée. Wifi aléatoire. Prix excessif pour ce que cela propose … mais pas vraiment d'autres choix pour ce tarif. Personnel sympa. Peuvent arranger des tours. Font resto : bonne pizza !!

Tavurvur, an active volcano on Rabaul erupted in 1994, devastating much of the town. It is possible that the recurrence of this event is the only thing which could improve this nasty little hotel - clearly the staff, friendly and helpful to a tee, are not to blame but whoever owns the place needs to start spending a few kina on essentials like cleaning, and cleaning, and maybe some additional cleaning. Bedsheets with suspicious & fresh stains, towels looking like they had already been used to wipe the bathroom floor, gecko droppings on most horizontal surfaces & some vertical ones. Clean the place, and maybe people will stay & write nice reviews.

Can get to Rabaul on public bus, free shuttle from airport, convenient, near market.actually has free wifi for my stay.
Lose power pretty often, but it is not the hotel's fault. Aircon and ceiling fan are fine.
Get a room away from the loud generator.
