I stayed here at the end of the year. It was a little cold, but the cave bath with spring water at your feet was amazing. It seems to be gushing out from the sandbox at the back. Perhaps because it was so cold, we had the bath to ourselves. The water was clear and bluish, and you'll want to drink it all up. The baths in the building are also private and very comfortable. The food is also delicious. It's not overly fancy, but you can enjoy the taste of seasonal ingredients. The rice in particular is superb. It's a variety that isn't commercially available. The rooms are quaint and clean. The staff are also kind. I'd definitely like to go again.

It is a valuable hot spring that is famous all over the country. If you look closely, small bubbles sometimes appear in the bathtub, but it is not enough to fill the water, so when I asked the owner, he said that a large amount of bubbles were coming out from deep inside the bathtub wall. The bathtub, whose floor is made of stone and sand, has a beautiful bluish color that is suitable for free-flowing water. If you take a closer look, you will find inscriptions carved on the rock walls and small Buddha statues, giving you a solemn feeling. Since the bathtub is on the riverside, it seems to be the style of this hot spring to take a long bath in the lukewarm water, which is classified as a simple hot spring, while listening to the sound of the flowing river and the sound of the hot spring water falling into the river. Looking at the pamphlet of the inn, it is recommended to take a bath for two hours instead of one hour. It reminded me of Tochiomata Onsen in Niigata Prefecture. It is a hot spring that is unbearable for people like me who want to take a long bath in lukewarm water. In addition, although there are many inns in eastern Japan, this inn is one of the few in Kyushu, and is a member of the Japan Secret Hot Spring Association. It is an inn that has a wonderful hot spring with origami, and I hope it will continue for a long time.
