Great location, not very busy area of KohSamui, beach is nice and with the beautiful view. We had a garden villa, it’s great, but I wish the sheets are more cleaner. The hotel itself is really beautiful, great for taking pictures also to chill. The only thing we didn’t like is the waiters who couldn’t speak English well and took the wrong order twice and after all didn’t come to apologize. The breakfast is quite low quality, there are only a few dishes with average taste.

This hotel is wonderful! From the moment you enter from a busy main rd it is an oasis of calm. The front house staff were very efficient and welcoming. Our garden villa was amazing, huge, big comfy bed, coffee machine, lovely terrace…. Just beautiful. And then we went to the pool… wow, wow, wow it was wonderful. Best sunbeds ever, pool overlooking the ocean, drinks and food service with a smile. The lady who seems to run the pool/restaurant area was incredible… so very hardworking and attentive. There were some cocktail issues but she is working hard to train the new staff. The design of the whole place is so gorgeous. We didn’t want to leave!

What I am not satisfied with this hotel is that the breakfast has too few varieties. But the restaurant is really nice, the room is clean, and the spa is really worth a try. It is quite comfortable, and 120 minutes is about 300 RMB, which is very worthwhile. Another point is that I brought two children and I need to add 1,000 Baht per night for each child. I booked two rooms, and the two children cost 2,000*3 nights, so I need to spend 6,000 Baht more. I don't understand this point, and compared with five-star hotels, they only charge one child at most. This kind of charge of this hotel is very unreasonable.

I was attracted by the hotel restaurant at first sight, so I placed an order. When I arrived, I found that the view was really great. It was close to the sea and had a sense of the Mediterranean. The hotel is small and beautiful, quiet, with a swimming pool. When swimming, the waiter will ask if you want free drinks. Half of the breakfast is self-service, usually ordered, and the eggs and desserts are good. The staff are very warm and friendly. The location is close to the night market in the small fishing village, and it is very convenient to rent a motorcycle.

Zazen is a more holiday-style hotel. It is not big and was just renovated a few years ago. The hotel's restaurant is very famous and is also very photogenic. I give it a thumbs up. The only downside is that there was a huge cockroach on the white floor at night. It crawled so fast that it scared the baby to death. The staff got rid of it.

After dinner at the hotel, the two of them both had vomiting and diarrhea in the middle of the night and were rushed to the hospital. The local hospital spent a lot of money on medical treatment, but it was not cured. They had no choice but to give up the trip and return home early.

The room is OK, but the service is just average, not as good as I imagined, ………………………\In fact, szssssssssssssssssss

Every aspect just wonderful. As I came at low season (towards the end) the place was not crowded or busy - I am not sure if that was the norm, but it was so pleasurable to feel it quite an intimate and personal space. Every day I was able to get a sunbed by the pool. A stunning pool, with wonderful infinity view out to the ocean. Very attentive and kind service by the bar team Aung Phyo and Fat. Always on hand with cold face towels, complementary fruit plus checking on orders for drinks or snacks. The staff at reception and the beautiful, comfortable restaurant (by the pool) were also exemplary - a huge thanks to Phueng, Por Fai, Oil and Pookie (reception). Dining at the restaurant was excellent quality and range across Thai and Western food. Beautifully prepared and delicious. My room was glorious and comfortable. The most comfortable of beds and beautiful shower. The spa also excellent and team (forgive me as I cannot remember spa therapists name - but she was brilliant). I am really happy to give this five stars all round. I came looking for a break and completely switched off. The villas are situated in beautiful gardens dotted with lovely water features and architecture and the beach is just on the doorstep. The pool area is a place to while away any stress. I was really lucky with the weather as well - every day sunshine - until the last day where it started to rain - but the next day as I left I could see it was clearing up. Its probably a good 20/25 min walk to Fishermans Village on the main road, and was worth to go to for a few hours here or there for massage or food. But I took advantage of the comfort of the hotel which was in itself a small paradise. Thanks to all the team who made my stay pure comfort and joy! I have already recommended to many of my friends.

We recently sold our villa in Koh Samui so decided to book Zazen. Over the years we had frequented the restaurant as it has always had great food, but we had never stayed at the hotel. We were very impressed with everything about the hotel. We had a perfect view of the sea from our beach front room. The food is great. And most importantly, the staff are fantastic. Professional and friendly. There are many hotel options in Samui. We could have stayed at a top international hotel & paid international prices, or opt to stay at this lovely family owned hotel for a fraction of the price while enjoying superior service. We made the correct decision. I would highly recommend Zazen and we will return.

Beautiful decoration but that is the only thing I can say that is positive. The water canal at reception was turning green, same for the pool. Rooms are not functional, the AC is just above the bed. All rooms are aligned where all terraces are next to each other. The room was horrible clean wise: white spot on the sofa, hair all over the room (bed, floor, toilet, shower…), dead flies on the bathroom, toilets not cleaned… Horrible smell when checked in. No manager on site on the week end… I was lucky I work on hospitality because I could arrange a discount, a full cancellation but I had to waste my holiday time to find another hotel. I don’t recommend at all.

Very nice and peaceful hotel. Everything is with full attention stating from the room , restaurant, and overall service. The privet and the massages on the beach are marvelous .We defiantly come back. Highly recommended especially for couples.

We had dinner at Zazen Restaurant... what a beautiful place and great food. The staff was very friendly, especially the waitresses Ice and Jannie. Ice explained the dishes and was very patient and helpful with us. Thanks to both ladies we had a great experience. We definitely are going back and we warmly recommend Zazen restaurant.

Just spent 12 nights at Zazen Boutique Resort & Spa.We were a bit hesitant before booking as we know the hotel was being refurbished. But our stay totally exceeded our expectations! The hotel is one of the most beautiful boutique hotels we’ve ever stayed at. The pool and restaurant area are absolutely stunning. The bungalows are set in beautiful gardens, they're beautifully designed, stylish. really spacious with huge bathrooms, minimalist design but functional and everything was always spotlessly clean. Facilities at the hotel are fantastic including a well equipped gym. The location is perfect as it’s set slightly away from the hustle and bustle of Fisherman’s village but close enough to walk which takes about 20 mins. But what really makes Zazen special is the staff. They are genuinely friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. We had couple of issues with our room as the resort has just recently been refurbished so there were some teething problems. The staff were fantastic and sorted the issues out immediately, couldn't do enough for us. Well done Zazen for creating such a special place, an oasis of calm and tranquility on Koh Samui, fabulous! Can't recommend this hotel highly enough! Martin and Jack.
