Bodega Pool Party Koh Phangan

After reading the many negative reviews, as an older woman I was dreading spending 3 days in this hostel. However, it was fine. The ladies behind the counter were friendly and helpful, the cleaning ladies who cleaned the rooms eight to under and behind the beds every day and refilled toilet rolls were very friendly and liked to laugh along. The swimming pool is a different story. It was really unhealthy dirty, there was a layer on it the last day as if I had missed a foam party. According to the receptionist, the Poolman was having a day off, which is not true, he has not maintained it for a long time and I would really advise against swimming there. Just walk 200 meters and dive into the sea. Yes, it is noisy on the weekend, yes, the fellow guests can come back late from a party. Yes, the towels and room keys will probably often be stolen / forgotten by some of the drunk and stoned youngsters. It is a hostel and I understand that they ask for a deposit for both. The mattresses and blankets were clean, a fitted sheet was put around them. My compliments for this hostel, I would definitely book again
